This is the same team that's been beating elite youth club teams right? If so, I hope they don't fall into the problem of the US team where we make the best youth but worst professionals by making the youth over-compete. It works for US Football, basketball, and baseball but obviously not football. I do trust the PFF that this won't happen despite the Philippines' love for US culture.

What about players from far away such as the NCR region? School starts for most on June 8, this just doesn't seem very fair unless you are from cebu..,
And why is this only publicized on the 8th/9th making it impossible for hopefuls from far away to try out?

School starts for most on June 8, this just doesn't seem very fair unless you are from cebu.., And why is this only publicized on the 8th/9th making it impossible for hopefuls from far away to try out? I think they have tryouts for different regions. The one above is for Cebu. As the article indicated there will also be tryouts in Bacolod, Dipolog and Manila(the last one) on different dates. Check with the PFF for the NCR ones.

Thanks! Asking around, I will report back any info I find. I think it is important for this to be a fair and open process so every kid has a chance and more importantly that the best raw talent is identified.
By the way, I heard some time ago that due to issues with distance, separate pools would be created in major football centers so that there could be some continuity in the program. Has anyone heard anything about this concept? I think it is a great idea...
