Roel Gener may retire from international football!
According to Roy Moore's article, the friendly with Inter de Madrid will be one of his last national team outings, to quote: This game may also be the last Azkals outing for veterans Roel Gener and Edmundo Mercado who at 36 and 37 inherited the title of Lolos of the team after last year’s retirement of Air Force stalwart Yanti Barsales.www.pinoyfootball.com/index.php?page=newsupdates&newsId=11100145Like Yanti Bersales's last outing with a friendly with the UFL All-Stars last June 2011, this could be his farewell match with the Azkals. Although I think he might still go on with his club football with Air Force in more or less 2 years. All the best to Roel Gener!

a day after the guam match, i was in the same ferry with roel gener going back to iloilo and while at the pier i got the chance to chat with him(sa bsobrang kawilihan mag usap sa kanya, nakalimutan ko humingi ng jersey, sayang!).I said that I was hoped to see him play vs guam but di sya nakapasok, sabi nya ok lang daw at tsaka sabi nya mag reretire na sya from national team duty para ma bigyan raw ng chances yung mga young guns natin kaya na bigla ako na dala pa sya sa US camp. Maybe it was the coachings staff decision to include him in the roster. But I wish all the best to roel gener!
