Looks like Indonesia in our group and Timor Leste in the other group have both pulled out last minute. Here's the new SEA Games Women's Football Schedule:

From what i was able to catch at SEA Games livestream most of the attacks came from Myanmar & little to none from Malditas. Philippines had little success in penetrating their defense, hesitant to claim the ball & at times seem to park the bus. Fortunately, our goalkeeper & some misfiring from Myanmar kept the score low.

Wow! that was highly painful to watch.
There were some really questionable coaching decisions made in that one.
After the team went down 2-0, I thought they had started to play better, the effort had improved. I thought the players were starting to settle into their roles. But around the 30th minute or so, Nierras wanted to get "creative" and made 2 early substitutions (Jurado for Shugg and K. Lim for Lee). I didn't quite understand those substitutions. It pretty much killed any flow/momentum we might have created for ourselves.
2nd half was just brutal. the floodgates broke. I felt sorry Dela Cruz at this point. The team's will was shattered.
Nierras has completely lost the team. The girls don't respect him as a coach.
In my opinion, one of two things will happen next year, either there will be a new coach in place and these girls will still be a part of this squad or Nierras will continue on and the team will be completely different.

u gotta admit that vietnam was a way to strong opponent for the girls. its comparable like the azkals would have to face on japan or australia... a loss is acceptable, but not the way how they lost. too many cheap mistakes and wrong decision making

sports.abs-cbn.com/football/news/2017/06/16/uaap-mvps-gayoso-gadia-banner-sea-games-football-squad-27447Over on the women's side, the newly-crowned UAAP women's football champions De La Salle University is well represented, with team captain Inna Palacios, Sara Castañeda, Kyra Dimaandal, Kyla Inquig, Regine Metillo, and Irish Navaja making the team. Joining them are striker Cam Rodriguez of Ateneo, Alesa Dolino and Jovelle Sudaria of FEU, and overseas-based players such as Eva Madarang, Hali Long, and Patricia Tomanon. Jesse Shugg is also participating.

Yup. The tournament won't be for awhile yet, so I figured they can make changes before submitting the final roster to the AFF. It is nice to know that they are preparing early though.

The women are also in the swing of their preps for the SEA Games. Last Friday they played a friendly against the MSA-Agila U15 boys team and lost 1-0. Let Dimzon, who leads FEU's ladies team, is the head coach but she is in China at the moment doing a coaching seminar. Ateneo mentor Jaypee Merida, who is an assistant, ran the training match. A roster list has also been released in the link earlier in the article, but it is unclear if it is final. There are over 30 players in the current pool and Merida says there could be some cuts. There will be quite a few holdovers from the side that qualified for the 2018 AFC Asian Cup for women recently. Goalie Inna Palacios, centerback Daidai Dolino, Sara Castañeda, Annicka Castañeda, Patrice Impelido, Irish Navaja, and Jovelle Sudaria are the Philippines-based girls who will represent the country again. Filipina-Americans Hali Long, Eva Madarang. And Pat Tomanon, all heroes of the qualification campaign, are also listed and are set to arrive in the Philippines in early July. Sara Castañeda, the elder of the two sisters and scorer of the tying goal with Bahrain that led to the team securing qualification, is still being eased into training. She has an injured hand. Two UAAP stars who missed out on the Tajikistan campaign were at the training match on Friday and are listed on the roster, namely Kyra Dimaandal of DLSU and Ateneo's Camille Rodriguez. Both are proven strikers who will test opposing defenses. According to Pinay Futbol's Mia Montayre, Dimaandal has a very demanding course in DLSU that prevented her from taking days off to play for the WNT in Tajikistan. This time around she is good to go. According to Merida the side is working on patterns of attack. He says the fitness is still a work in progress for the girls. They have some friendlies lined up including one against National University's newly-created high school boys team. Overseas camps are also being planned. No doubt the Pinays will have a stiff challenge in the SEA Games. The Philippines is ranked 71st in the world, with 3 ASEAN opponents positioned significantly higher, namely Thailand, (29), Vietnam, (32), and Myanmar, (45). Malaysia is 9 spots behind the Philippines but will have the advantage of playing at home. Preparation has long been a problem for Philippine national teams of all levels. But since it's the focus for these SEAG squads, hopes are flying for a podium finish. www.rappler.com/sports/by-sport/football/173827-ph-mens-womens-football-teams-buckle-down-seag
