I'll leave this topic up for just a little bit longer for everyone to see the following: May I remind everyone of item number 2 of the FORUM RULES. usapangfootball.proboards.com/thread/282/rules-forumWhile I understand the passion behind wanting to change the team nickname into something you personally prefer, Usapang Football is currently not a venue for this topic. There are other places to do so, as linked in the above original post.

Hi jayson! I don't think that is the reason behind the ruling of this forum's founder. More like the topic has already been discussed quite heavily in the past in previous, no-longer-around forums. The subject can get heated and can result in less-than-favorable directions in discussion (trust me, it can get ugly) and with the current acceptance of the moniker by the general masses, media, and most importantly, the team itself, the topic is taboo here in Usapang Football. I was in the Philfootballinfo forum when the topic was originally raised. While I was a supporter of the current nickname, I can understand the passion behind those who prefer other names. However, I do agree with the notion that the original reasons the nickname made sense in the old days is no longer valid (the team was unloved and had no home; was comprised of "mixed breeds" - well this still applies today) but I prefer to keep the name to remind us where we came from and to respect the heroic efforts of past Azkals to bring football to the level of acceptance it is currently in. Furthermore, I believe Mr. Dan Palami has trademarked the name. As long as he is involved with the team, most likely the name is here to stay.

Usapang Football isn't a venue for this topic?! It's a frickin forum!! Anything should be fair game as long as discussion remain civilized! Oh well, I guess it really is true then... This forum only allows topics and posts that are in line with being delusional or ass kissing! A shame and sad and pathetic!

And who says we can't respect the efforts of the NT from 2010 without this moniker?? This is also what I've pointed out in my post from the other forum.. being stuck in the past and therefore keeping something around for either the wrong reasons or reasons that aren't even valid anymore!! As for Palami, who cares about him with regards to the NT's moniker!? He doesn't own the NT now does he? If trademarked it, so what? He can use for his own club Global FC for all we care. If people want the nickname changed and there's a significant amount of people that have voiced this, it can/will get changed!

Nicknames should come out organically IMO; even though I agree it's weird to address you as "Philippines Azkals" everytime, that's more like an American franchise name or pretty Rubgy-ish.

All right, my friends. If you have further suggestions regarding the forum rules, I encourage you to contact the forum admin. However, for now, forum rules are forum rules regardless of your opinion of them.
To brimstone, I believe I've given you enough benefit to air your side, good sir, far more than other moderators would. You've made your opinion clear. I admire your passion on your stand and I wish you the best of luck on your campaign. I hope you stick around for other discussions on this site.
With apologies, in a few moments I'll be closing this thread.
