Nice! Cant wait for official announcements and his arrival in country. Any other info on all of dooleys coaching assignments. His wikipedia page lacks alot of info. Atleast we maintain german influence and language plus hes half american. Hopefully alot more connections world wide! Whats his style of football?
It seems that they have chosen Thomas Dooley as the new head coach of the Philippine national football team. It is not official yet, but many sources including from the US has started commenting about him being chosen.
His linked in profile shows him with his new title
I think his connections to the USSF during his stint as assistant coach to the US men's national team and his friendship to German legend and current US men's national team coach Jurgen Klinsmann will be very helpful to our program. Klinsmann did a good job as head coach of the German national team in 2004-06 and his assistants at that time current head coach Joachim Low carried on his attacking style of play. If(and I would have to qualify that I don't really know what style Dooley prefers)Thomas brings this experience to the Azkals, we should be very pleased at how our team will play.
He is very fluent in English and a good communicator so I think the media will love him. He is also an outstanding soccer teacher in the US which should benefit our local and younger players.
I knew about the interest on Dooley long before this was announced, and received positive feedback from several sources here in the US after several inquiries, which might have helped the team management make their decision after I communicated this to them.
So there is still German influence. It would still have a good communication with our Fil-German players. I just wonder since he is based in US that what term would he used here to determine the sport. "Football" or "Soccer"
Anyway doesn't matter. I hope he could bring the bacon for the country.
Coaching Experience: (based on Wikipedia) 2002-2003 FC Saarbrucken (Currently in 3.Liga of Germany) Hmmm. a defender or defensive midfielder eh. Then I think he could assess our defensive problem

parang azkals din ang story ng bagong coach ng Azkals. Foreign recruit by the US back then , tapos naging team captain pa . ! as a player medjo magaling , as a coach ? hindi pa alam ? but naging assitant coach din ng US national team dati . so baka pwde na .
one of the major factors why PFF hire this coach was his vision for the team . one of my sources said , magaling mag "powerpoint" , which can also translates into good image handling for the team . !
im not really impressed with his credentials but i hope he can do the talking. It seemed like he is good on pointing out everything about the team but he should prove himself that he is well capable of handling our team
BoyBacolod: If some UAAP or NCAA schools will join the new league in one form or another, it may remove the gap between U22s and seniors. The schools can devise a system akin to sports academies, education is important after all.

BoyBacolod: Will the PFL be like the San Marino league system, where there are no so-called "home" stadiums.

leoisiah: Gibraltar also has a single stadium for their league.

BoyBacolod: Rules are rules are rules. The two clubs should have known better. They are given loads of time to act on it. And to those who say PFF sucks, sometimes they do but one thing they are consistent is sticking to the rules.

BoyBacolod: Why I like UAAP football, no more extra games for seeding.Makes me think about European efficiency. Wish gayahin din sa basketball (very sketchy tiebreakers), like Euroleague.

BoyBacolod: Negros Occidental footy fans, expect more football this 2019, now that a San Carlos native is governor.

BoyBacolod: As long as Ricky Yanson is professional to Ceres FC and extends support to the Azkals in general (Ceres Azkals in particular) during home games, he can be PFF president in my book. Much better will be reconciling with Leo, though that idea is Farfetch'd.

BoyBacolod: Kaya fans wishing that Ricky Yanson wins the PFF presidency is akin to GMA fans wishing that Congress and President Duterte will not renew ABS-CBN's franchise.

BoyBacolod: We will wait for the basketball and volleyball ASEAN teams and then we compare their reception to that given to the football delegations, where ALL ASEAN nations participate. Now there will be foreign scrutiny in every move of PHISGOC.

BoyBacolod: DDS trolls underestimated the SEA football community. Having no prior exposure to football culture, they dismiss any and all so-called sabotages as destabilization plots, to the point that they do not support the teams, especially the women.
