im not really impressed with his credentials but i hope he can do the talking. It seemed like he is good on pointing out everything about the team but he should prove himself that he is well capable of handling our team I agree with strikerbon. Credential-wise he is stil not good for a national team. But who knows, maybe he is good.

Tweets by R. Nathanielsz Nonong just called us. Said nothing is official and the Azkals Foundation has no right to speak for the PFF. He sounded upset. How come PFF president Araneta said they haven't made an announcement? Maybe it was Dan Palami but he's not the PFF! PFF president Araneta told us they will talk via Skype to another top candidate tonight.
Dan Palami Tweets to be clear, final negotiations re terms of contract lis still ongoing but will be finalized when he arrives next week and meet w/ PFF
Makes me wonder about PFF Pres. Araneta @ronnathanielsz Cant understand why Noning Araneta told us earlier today it was not a done deal. hhmmmmmm, then why was it on the news already???

Indeed, the PFF should be the one making official announcements in this matter. Dan Palami may have demanded a certain degree of autonomy when he agreed to be the national team's manager and financier, but announcements like this do have to be done properly. Considering the previous mess that happened when Weiss replaced McMenemy, the current misinformation could have been avoided. To be fair, Palami admits that things aren't final, but it sure sounds like he has made up his mind. What strikes as odd to me is this candidate the PFF is interviewing tonight. It's starting to sound like they are conducting their own search without Palami. After all, had he known about this candidate, he wouldn't have made his choice just yet.

i think hindi nagustuhan ng pff ung ginawa ni sir dan kasi it must be pff who has the right to announced such thing..or hindi sila magkasundo ni sir dan kung sino ang dapat piliin...

My guess is Dan Palami made the choice but did not consult with Araneta before the news leaked out. Since the PFF should have have the final say on any choice, I can understand why Araneta was a little bit miffed at the premature announcement.

There is precedent for a good experienced player who has not managed a team before, taking over a head coaching position of a national team and succeeding. German legend Jurgen Klinsmann took over the German national team in 2004 without any previous head coaching experience whatsoever and even changed the way the Germans played, preferring a more attacking style of play than the traditional solid defensive mindset that they were famous for in the past. He was criticized in the German media for this, but their performance in the 2006 World Cup silenced his critics and his successor Low continued this style of play after Klinsmann declined to renew his contract after the World Cup.
Having said that, that doesn't mean that Dooley will do the same thing, but it is possible that his playing experience at a high level and his exposure to Klinsmann's ideas might rub off on our team. If he does become the official head coach, I hope he follows what Klinsmann did.
The fact that he was a tactically sound defensive player during his playing days as a defenceman, also gives me hope that he will not be like the tactically naive Weiss who doesn't even have any kind of playing experience to compensate for his coaching inadequacies.

Dan Palami had to fly to US & Dubai to interview candidates while PFF will talk via Skype?

it seems like it's not only the national team that need a new coach but the PFF management as well is need of a new president. Like, seriously many are complaining on coach Weiss coaching style but what has the PFF done so far for the national team not only to the senior team? None either from decent pitches, training facilities, physical fitness and skill trainers.

Its 80% done but now were back to 60 ! . hehe... there's some problems and stuff, according to my sources . but believe me he's not the top choice of the PFF for the coaching position ! . but the azkals team management thinks otherwise .
