We should have won 3-0 very good game of the Azkals even do were missing a lot of the 'better' players like Müller, Patino, PYH, Schröck, etc.

Extremely unlucky to not have won, we had 3-4 clear chances but just failed to capitalized on them. FT: 0-0

Asiide from the draw, good performance overall, we need better finishers and abit of luck on goals:-) and what a save from Deyto!!' This team is playing better football every game and a beauty to watch them play, no more chasing long balls :-)

Bob G just mentioned that their next Azkals telecast is next month for the Challenge Cup. Is that confirmation that the Bahrain mid-May friendly is cancelled?

Bob probably meant that the friendlies in Bahrain will not be televised.
4th straight draw between Malaysia and the Philippines. There is quite a rivalry developing between the 2 sides which will culminate at the end of the year during the Suzuki Cup. It is nice to see that we can dominate them though even with just a predominantly UFL side, similar to the team that will be available during the Suzuki Cup. We really miss Phil Younghusband's ability to finish.

0:0 A fair but frustrating result.
Malaysia is a much better team than Nepal and it showed in this game. The good things I saw included set pieces well executed. Three in the second half alone that came to the box and were good opportunities. I saw a ground attack, still patient, and that could challenge and at times even dominate in the first two-thirds of the field. Improvements are still needed in precise passing and I think this is where the foreign-based players (Mulders, Schrock, Patino) will add value. Great value.
The bad things I saw -- Nate, c'mon, you gotta put the ball in! Three chances! One was right in front of the goal. To give him credit, however, one of those chances that hit the crossbar was entirely his doing. Scramble in (or close to?) to box and turns around quickly to kick it and hits the cross bar. Another great opportunity was with Doctora when the gk was lured almost outside the box. Doc -- you have to give it a shot, any shot for the ball towards the goal and that would be great. Doc held possession, there was no shot, and the gk regained position.
Still no goal against quality opposition. Malaysia is not Nepal and this was a good test that showed there's much work to do if we're to succeed in the Challenge Cup where there will be quality opposition. The defense was good but inconsistent. The midfield was also good and I like the ground attack and movement along the sides. The last third is what needs most improvement. The set pieces were great. Forward runs and quality crosses were missing, but that may be because of the Malaysia defense.
Overall a good showing and progress. I still feel that much is needed if we're to win the Challenge Cup.

When that backpass seemed headed for the back of the net, DID DEYTO'S TOE DEFLECT IT?
I'd like to know if Deyto's toe saved the day. That would have been the turning point of the game.

I've been thinking for the past 20 minutes and I realized that it WAS a deflection off Deyto's toe because the next action was a corner kick.
ALL HAIL DEYTO'S TOE!

Oh! I guess you're right. That's sad. I was happy for his toe.

Nate Burkey almost scored, thrice!
And wow, it seems that for every game Dooley has handled, a new player debuts for the Azkals. Today it was "Fil-Croatian" Joven Bedic.
