Well, I do think Laos have what it takes. They had played 2 games under the sun,and this is afghans first 4pm game. The afghans will run out of gas early and the Laotians will have gotten better haha.. bit off.topic. - Neil Etheridge was just released by Fulham? what will happen to him then?? www.fulhamfc.com/news/2014/may/23/player-departuresIf Neil is smart, go to a club that will give him First-team experience. He needs to come to Asia, as he will never get the playing time in Europe. I can see him in J-League 2, The V-League or the Thai Premier League. He will get nowhere in the UFL at the present time.As for Laos: They have long been piss-poor when it comes to conditioning. They will all crash around the Hour mark. If the Laotians are not leading by 2-3 goals by then, expect the massacre to commence. If Neil's thigh problem sorts itself, I can see some League 1 or even a Championship club willing to sign him. I don't see him signing up with an Asian club any time soon.

Two years ago, we were up by 1 goal against Turkmenistan in the semis. Unfortunately, we collapsed in the last 10 minutes by allowing the Turkmen 2 goals. I hope all the Azkals remember this! Today will be payback time! Revenge is the battle cry! Let's not aim for a draw but go for a win.
As for my starting 11, a 4-2-3-1 formation:
GK- Muller (call me superstitious but when was the last time azkals lost with muller betweenthe posts?) LB - Cagara (his physicality and intimidating presence against the taller turkmen will be a factor) CB- Lucena (to replace the injured Juani) CB - Gier (skipper-leader) RB - Rota (has played solidly since being an azkal) DMF - de Jong (i'm not really a fan of jason but the last 2 games has been a revelation, with him doing a nice job in distributing the ball although with some occassional errors) MF - Mulders LW - Reichelt CAM- Schrock RW- J. Younghusband (Phil needs James what can i say?) ST - P. Younghusband (will eventually score as he is THE striker and Challenge cup's Golden Boot winner, dont you guys forget that)
My prediction: Azkals 3 - Turkmen 1 with Schrock, Phil and Reichelt scoring.
Go azkals we believe!

^ IIRC during SEA games? forgot what year but its Azkals U23. I think he conceded 1-2x on a senior level. I cant remember what year and against whom. He has a high percentage of clean sheets.

Though Lucena is equally capable of protecting the fort, i guess Juani's size and deft will be missed on this match particularly it's against tall Turkmen offensive phalanx.

After two matches , JYH's match fitness is remains in question... Do we really need him in right flank? I don't think so... For me, in this match i'll move Schrock to right then have Sato to move up in the left on his place. My LB would be then Cagara.

@abscbnsports: Azkals Starting XI vs Turkmenistan: Gier, Sato, De Jong, Aguinaldo, P. Younghusband, Doctora, Muller, Schrock, Steuble, Rota & Mulders i'm afraid of Sato and Aguinaldo if they can withstand big men of TKM? Of course we have to respect Dooley's decision.

Younghusband, Doctora, Muller, Schrock, Steuble, Rota & Mulders is this a 4-2-3-1 i think steuble and de jong can control the midfield. attack wise. shrock on the left and doctora on the right? our team seems a bit lacking in height?. Phil oh Phil. Please be Phil..

oh, a bit surprising that Reichelt will be starting from the bench. perhaps a good move by Dooley to play him fresh in the second half where the Turk defenders are already tired
