We need another team for Peace Cup, says Dooley HANOI (5 August 2014) – Thomas Dooley, the coach of the Philippines national team, said that after the official draw of the AFF Suzuki Cup this afternoon, that they will now have to look for another team to take part in the Peace Cup 2014. The four-team Peace Cup which is slated for 1-9 September was supposed to have Palestine, Myanmar and Vietnam. “It was understood that Vietnam will only take part if they are not in the same AFF Suzuki Cup group as us,” said Dooley after the draw ceremony. “But now that Vietnam are in the same group, we will have to look for another team to make up the event.” For the AFF Suzuki Cup 2014, the Philippines have been drawn in Group A to be based in Hanoi against hosts Vietnam, Indonesia and the runners-up team from the qualifiers. Group B are hosts Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and the winning team from the qualifiers. www.aseanfootball.org/v2/?p=17166

They'd be great additions. With Myanmar there I doubt other Suzuki Cup qualification group teams will join. Maybe our SAFF friends would be interested?

Haven't they been part of every tournament since the time this was called the Long Teng Cup? I would prefer to invite some of the Central Asian nations if they are willing. It would make for a stronger tournament.

Or even Azerbaijan, but they have other problems. I may have been mistaken about Chinese-Taipei.

Definitely have to get a strong team. If we get Guam, all due respect, we won't be tested enough.

Teams to be known in the press Conference this Thursday.
Taiwan could enter when Vietnam is not available.
North Korea would be a even better option , they play Vietnam on September 1.
Or maybe a surprise team ? Papua New Guinea playing a friendly in Singapore on September 13 , their website reporting that they will be playing friendlies against South East Asian teams.
