I must say I'm major pumped to watch another series of the Peace Cup! I've been watching my old copies of the games from the last 2 years. It still hurts to see last years Taiwan vs PI game where we thoroughly dominated but lost because of, plain and simply, taking the opponents for granted. It sucks for Aly but I'm glad Dooley was straight forward in telling him what he needs to improve on. He'll never be a starter again, I think, but if he starts getting regular UFL minutes maybe he'll be able to maybe be part of the reserve pool just like his former defensive partner del Rosario. Dooley left some glimmer of hope at least. Meanwhile, it looks like Chieffy looked impressive enough for Dooley but for his new injury: Caligdong was also part of the training camp but an injury forced him out of the Peace Cup as well.“I wanted to see Chieffy another week. He did good things, he was like very quick, he was fit, and he had some great moves,” Dooley said.
“I wanted to see him playing with this group here, so this week I wanted to see him in this bigger field, esp. the game on Wednesday versus Global to see if it works for him.
“Unlucky that he was injured. Talked to him yesterday, shouldn’t give up. There will be other tournaments and then when he’s healthy he can come back and can train with us and we can see how far he can go.” www.interaksyon.com/interaktv/chieffy-caligdong-aly-borromeo-among-notable-absentees-from-azkals-peace-cup-lineupwith Lucena and Steuble not available, it'll just give more playing time for some other "fringe" or newer Azkal some playing time. I'm ok with that. Whatever happened to Marwin Angeles?

Late reaction: I didn't know Javier got injured. Although I haven't seen his team's matches live, based on news, he seems to be doing pretty well - and look healthy. Kinda surprised about him injured.

sad for capt. aly i think coch dooley just learned his lessons when dealing with the veterans but then again some wordings used eh parang masakit hehehe he tried though i can feel it hehehe Masakit yata talaga pakinggan either way. hehe. I remember something in the movie Moneyball. I think it was Brad Pitt saying that when you "cut" a player/athlete there is no better way to say it but be direct about it. Not in those exact words but the gist is that better tell it to them frankly tapos give them options.

Ang sakit naman nun para kay Kapitan, well siguro nga better mag improve na lang siya bawi nalang sa upcoming season ng UFL. Pero maglalaro ba si kapitan mamaya vs Global? or Hindi na?

But, I think it is probably for the best in the long run. Many players have been complaining about the maniacal amount of games to be played. WHat is surprising about this is that the PFF is flexing its muscles a bit. Usually when a country puts out a tourney, they make the opposition a bit easy for themselves. This Peace Cup lineup is anything but easy.

It sucks to have schedule changes a few days before the Peace Cup.
I am waiting for the FIFA website to change the fixtures list to make it official...
