I guess nanghihinayang lang ako because I'd like us to squeeze in as many competitive friendlies within the FIFA international windows. It's our only chance to mesh with our overseas-based players. But I guess the governing body is drawing the line.

The teams that joined our Peace Cup knew the format and would not have joined if they were worried about too many games I think. It's too bad about this new FIFA ruling and I honestly think it was done for other "higher end" players, you know the multimillionaires in Europe and other places.
The Philippines would have benefited in playing as many games as possible for the simple fact that we have a huge pool that the new coach wants to know about; Exposure(of football) for the masses and as was mentioned above, so that the none local players can have more time with the new coach and other players.
But FIFA speaks so we have to follow.
Since the North American tour looks to be a none starter maybe PFF can set up another middle eastern tour after and play against club teams and the odd national team like we did in 2012 against Kuwait, Bahrain, or any other team who wants to take us on?
I guess we can expect that no team will take it easy on the first day of competition in the Peace Cup!

ph.sports.yahoo.com/blogs/thepassionatefan/dooley-names-azkals-squad-for-peace-cup-082952526.htmlLINEUP Aguinaldo, Bahadoran, Burkey, Daniels, De Jong, Del Rosario, Deyto, Dizon, Gier, C. Greatwich, S. Greatwich, J. Guirado, Hartmann, De Murga, Mulders, Muller. Ott, Porteria, Reichelt, Rota, Sato, J. Younghusband, P. Younghusband Too bad Alvaro Silva still doesn't have his passport yet. It is nice to see Mark Hartmann finally getting his chance. A new player named as a reserve is Fitch Arboleda. Is Christiaens injured? I like the roster but it looks like a reinforced "B" team without Schrock, Cagara, Christiaens, Lucena, Chieffy and Angel What I'm looking for from some of those guys in the roster are: Hartmann: hasn't been impactful in a game w/ the NT so far. Bahadoran: has been an all star in the UFL, has been a useful reserve player and has started for the NT in Azkal competition since 2012 but hasn't found the goal yet! Can it be his time? de Murga: Right Wing/Mid anyone? Reichelt: ...will score Aguinaldo & del Rosario: More playing time for both please? Aguinaldo because he needs more seasoning and delRo because he's gonna be a great addition as a multi use reserve player.

Wiking,
Christiaens is injured, acc. to Dooley. We need some scoring. Hopefully Hartmann, can prove that he can be an able replacement for Phil Younghusband, when he is not around. He certainly has shown that he can do it in the UFL.

Bad timing for the Azkals in the Chinese Taipei game. It will kick off 30 minutes after the beginning of the Philippine national basketball team game against Puerto Rico in the FIBA World Cup. Many fans will be tuned in to the FIBA event, affecting the attendance for the Peace Cup.

Already bought my ticket for this game, however, I'm still undecided if I'm going to watch this or watch the Gilas game (we need to win the game against puerto rico). That is what I'm also thinking. Gilas needs to secure a win for tomorrow's game. I really think this will affect the attendance of the Azkals game. Azkals must win so that solid basketball fans (football bandwagons) woudn't say a lot insults to our football team. A lot of fans thru social media insulted Azkals last year after we lost to IDN 2-0 and that's days after Gilas secured a spot in the World Cup and bagged 2nd place finish in FIBA Asia Championship. Well GOOD LUCK to both GILAS AND AZKALS tomorrow!!!

Preview: Chaos, disorganization as Palestine prepare for Peace Cup The Managers pose with the Peace Cup Trophy What: Peace Cup (Friendly Tournament) Opponents: Myanmar & Chinese Taipei/Philippines When: September 3rd/6th Where: Rizal Satdium, Manila, Philippines Kickoff: 11 AM (v. Myanmar) Jerusalem Time Squad: Jamal Mahmoud and the PFA delayed announcing the final squad until after the Yasser Arafat Cup final only to then state that they were forced to name a squad a month in advance by the organizing committee. With that stipulation in place, Mahmoud chose to use his Challenge Cup winning squad as a base, unfortunately injuries and other porblems have left Palestine shorthanded. Imad Zatara and Alexis Norambuena miss out due to injury. Hesham Salhe was unable to join due to a error in his paperwork, Tamer Seyam pulled out due to the death of his father, Haitham Dheeb cited his (real job) work commitments, and Ashraf Nu'man was forced to stay in Saudi Arabia while his residency paperwork was being completed. The only squad member to pullout without citing a legitimate reason was Murad Ismail. Now that we've established who isn't here- let's take a look at the brave souls who made the trip: Goalkeepers: Ramzi Saleh and Toufic Ali Defenders: Ahmed Harbi, Javier Cohene, Abdelatif Bahdari, Abdesalam Al-Swerki, Raed Fares, Abed Jaber Midfielders: Husam Abu Saleh, Khader Yousef, Musa Abujazr, Abdelhamid Abuhabib, Hilal Musa, Ahmed Maher Forwards: None. Others rumored to be joining are Khaled Salem, Ibrahim Swidan, and Mohammed Qassim. Olympic Poaching: In order to fill out the squad- Mahmoud was forced to pull three players (Abed Jaber, Ahmed Maher, Hilal Musa) out of the Olympic Asian Games camp. Instead of playing Brazil this Saturday they'll be facing up against Philippines/Chinese Taipei (I'm sure they're thrilled). New Player: Meet Javier Cohene! A 27 year-old CB who plies his trade in Portugal for Vitoria Setubal. From the looks of his YouTube highlights- he looks to be a good addition and should pair up well with one of the bruisers in the squad (in this case Abdelatif Bahdari). Prediction: This will be a tough test for an underprepared side. Radojko "Raddy" Avramovic will have his side prepared to fix the mistakes that plagued the last encounter between these two teams. Leaning on prior experience, Palestine may just edge this- but it could be a very ugly, disjointed performance. Chances are there will be starts for the three Olympic team players alongside Ramzi Saleh, Raed Fares, Abdelatif Bahdari, Musa Abujazar, Khader Yousef, Abdelhamid Abuhabib, and Husam Abu Saleh. Ahmed Harbi or Abdesallam Al-Swerki will fight it out to start alongside Bahdari. Palestine 1-0 Myanmar. footballpalestine.blogspot.com/2014/09/preview-chaos-disorganization-as.html
