"If we celebrated Gilas losses like they were wins, maybe we can do so for the Azkals too? The team worked very hard and showed tremendous character in coming back from 1-0. They fell short, but the road to football success is always rutted and winding. Setbacks are to be expected. In my opinion, when a team gives its all for the nation, it’s ALWAYS enough. I saw that on Saturday night. That’s why I’m proud of this team and committed to supporting them going forward." ph.sports.yahoo.com/blogs/thepassionatefan/myanmar-3-azkals-2-postgame-thoughts-a-gutsy-display-175241949.html

It's ok to lose in friendlies but not in a major tournament but this is a special friendly because we're aiming for a 3-peat. "panalo na naging bato pa" during the extra time of 2nd half. Truly a heartbreaker.

How can we compare the lose of Azkals to Gilas?! GILAS are playing in "WORLD CUP!" and Azkals LOST to MYANMAR in our HOME TURF?!!!
If azkals play like this in AFF Suzuki cup, it will be miracle to past the round robin stage!

Relax guys. It's just the Peace Cup. This is meaningless IMO.

Gilas lost nail-biters to teams that are Goliaths in their field, we were supposed to be blown away. We pushed them to their limits on foreign soil. On the other hand, the Azkals lost on home turf as clear favorites. That's why I can't celebrate the loss. I'm not withdrawing my support (never will), but this is a definite disappointment for the Azkals.

There's already a dwindling interest with football right after Azkals' debacle in Challenge Cup. This will definitely compounded further by unsuccessful defense of Peace Cup. .. If you notice the crowd is quite thinner in recent friendlies compared to the attendance 2 years ago. .. The PFF and Dooley must do something to reverse this slump.

No, IMO the Suzuki Cup is the most important tournament for the Azkals because they won't progress much in the World Cup qualifying. Fire Dooley if he can't match the Suzuki Cup semifinals stint for the Azkals under Weiss and McMenemy.

BTW, the overlapping chants of Pilipinas Malupit by the Ultras and the Let's Go Azkals Let's Go by the fangirls (OK, it's the Kaholeros, but all I hear are girls lol) doesn't sound good to the ear. Some coordination please?

leoisiah Ultra Filipinas and Kaholeros aren't there to entertain you. They are there to support the team. If you are able, how about you coordinate with either of them first.

The in fighting of coach with the euro players plus the re emergence of basketball craze contributed to this.

undeniably our euro based national players have significant fan following while our young and developing philippine based players still have to develop their own following, takes time but winning games would help....in the meantime let's hope for the best this coming suzuki cup.

I disagree with you. You'll see... One day football will become number one sport here in the Philippines. I'll make sure to that! Nothing against basketball. I love the game too. But you see.. Basketball is not for everyone. You need to be tall. Whereas in football height doesn't matter. As long as your good and skillful at the game your in.
