IMO:
1. Extend Dooley's Contract. 2. Develop our own professional national league. 3. Start scouting for young Filipino-foreign players to play in the national professional league - This will increase the competitiveness of the league while providing us more option for NT (this is unlike in the English Premier League). 3. Start developing our grassroots program (PFF should start providing financial scholarship to young players to train overseas like Sandro Reyes of FC Barcelona Academy). 4. Balanced mixture of players playing in domestic league and top foreign leagues(like English Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga etc).
Looking at the Japan NT and South Korea NT - Almost all their NT players are playing in European Leagues but this is the products of their football system. But we still need them - the players in abroad.

Who put this poll up? Someone jumping on the bandwagon?
1) If the PFF wants to have ANY credibility on the World stage, they NEED to sign Dooley for the long haul. 2) Develop a true National program. Tell people like Schrock, Cagara and Etheridge that if they give a damn about Filipino football, COME and play in the UFL and help us develop it. That cannot happen unless the PFF is serious about development. 3) STOP playing Nepal, Sri Lanka and Guam unless it is in AFC qualifiers. Start playing the lower European, African and American Nations. If a misfit program like the Dominican Republic's can fly across the globe to play Indonesia, what are the Azkals excuse? 4) Urge the National Youth teams to play in places like Dallas Cup. Give the kids exposure, and start building and expanding.the National program.

I fully support the extension of Coach Dooley's contract. I'm no expert here but what I saw with the Azkals' recent style of play is more of short, accurate passes instead of the long ball passes on the previous era. This is really a sight to behold especially when one was used to those "tsambahan" long balls where midfield was almost invisible. I am lucky to have witnessed both home legs of AFF Suzuki Cup 2012 and 2014 semis and I am convinced that this year's Azkals are a much better and improved team. Even my BF who is not into football saw this and had enjoyed the game last Dec.6 despite the 0-0 scoreline. All these are thanks to Coach Thomas Dooley.
I am also happy that young guns were given international exposure especially those who were trained and developed here in the Philippines (Amani, Patrick). We are not anymore over-reliant with our overseas Azkals since a lot of Fil-foreign footballers are already plying their trade in the UFL. I observed that only three players in the Suzuki Cup roster were based abroad (Jerry, Rob and Martin) while the rest are playing here in the Philippines. That is a good direction we are taking in. Although I will forever be grateful to our foreign-based players, this development will ease us of being constantly faced with problems of player unavailability during Azkals matches (either friendlies or major tourneys).
Another positive note is the players' fitness. They don't easily get cramps anymore and they were able to get toe-to-toe with the faster Viets and Thais. I read an article where James was interviewed and he mentioned that Coach TD is very strict with their diet. I think the effect of this kind of discipline is manifested on the field.
Overall, I am happy with how the PMNT was handled by Coach Dooley and I believe that giving him another year or two to mold our team is the best option we can have at this point.

We need to attract the young Filipino-Foreign players here to increase in ten-folds the competitiveness of the league domestically and internationally (AFC Cup). It will increase the chance of our clubs playing in AFC CHAMPIONS LEAGUE.
I hope we attract several Fil-Foreigners especially in Japan or South Korea. They have a good grassroots program there and football skills runs through their bloods.
Squaring them with young domestic football players will make our league more competitive.

- He should stay if he wants to continue. Huwag na tayo maghanap ng wala, 'ika nga. Sino naman ipapalit mo diba? At sino magbabayad sa kanya kung iba man ang kunin?
- Important: Hire permanent coaches for the Azkals U-23, U-21, U-19, U-17, below 16, kid's grassroots programs.
- Hire a permanent scout to spot promising half-Pinoys playing abroad, preferably those around 18-28 y.o.
- Hire a local scout to spot promising kids especially those in football-playing provinces in the Vis./Min. region.
- Build a world-class, natural-grass covered field with max-dimensions, not these smaller, converted multi-purpose fields with artificial turf. It should seat at least 20-30K.
- naturalize a few of the most outstanding foreigners playing in the UFL. We need some cover to sub for those foreign-based Pinoys that are not able to make it for major tournaments.

Just wanted to point out naturalizing foreign players in our local league or elsewhere, is out of the question. Process takes longer than someone's professional career. Unless of course you can convince Congress to pass a bill to facilitate the process and have the President agree to sign it, like they have done in basketball. We have enough players with real Filipino blood abroad who everybody can identify with, especially with a population of more than 10 million living abroad. No imports needed.

Ruling out naturalized players as well. I honestly think we can find success if we can just fix the football system in the country.

He has a long vision on our team and very passionate on his job.. It will be unfair for him if they fire him just because of his no silverware campaign this year..

PFF should stick with Dooley. We have 10 WC qualifying matches starting June next year. 5 of these will be played at home... We need Dooley's system intact to keep us forward to these matches if we wither then we won't be seeing him by January 2016.

Dooley stays until he retires. With PFF consistently measly budget, I don't think we can afford to hire a better, more experienced coach who is equally decorated (consistent World Cup experience, captaincy experience, awarded best XI of USA team, Bundesliga experience). Dooley's contract is reportedly less expensive than what were paying Weiss. With economy at scale - Dooley is already a steal.
And Dooley is actually not the one whom we should look at. It's the local football programs! It has been said here over and over again that even if we had a Mourinho or Ferguson coaching the Azkals we will still be losing because our football team in general is still unripe. Firing Dooley means resetting back to square 1. We have already established a football doctrine which already works for the Azkals regardless if the players are Fil-fors or local based. All we need is to invest TIME and resources to improve this so that what Dooley has started will be internalized by the Azkals, the future Azkals, and if possible down to the UFL leagues as well.

No for naturalization! It will increase our dispute with Basketball fans and most especially those trolling Indonesian Fans (BTW their term is naturalisisi correct me if im wrong). They are very closed-minded.

I say no to naturalization of foreign players. There are certainly a lot of locals who have exceptional skills in football and are just waiting to be discovered. What PFF should do is strengthen the grassroots program and the scouting of Filipino players, both local and foreign-based.
