We have seen lots of improvements from Azkals this year under coach TD. What you do think is the main focus for this coming year?

This year Azkals did great defensively, it's obvious!
For this coming year, I think it would be great if Azkals will build up the midfield section. e.g. pacing, passing, accuracy of pass etc... Great chemistry in the midfield area, the better chances for the Forwards/Strikers to get a goal.
We know that midfielders plays a vital role in football, they do both Offense and Defense.
Of course Azkals need to play Top Teams in UFL, UFL All Star and also other Teams in Philippines. e.g. Cebu, Davao, Barutac Nuevo and more.. If possible every month, they will play different teams to build up there chemistry and formation etc...
There's a lot of talented players in our country, they think that football is for rich. Not knowing that basketball is more expensive than football.
Thanks

What the azkals need is experience from playing against high ranking opponents.. i dont care if we get massacred playing against a high caliber team as long as we gain valuable experience..

Azkals needs to focus on chemistry and professionalism... Goalkeeper? Defender? Midfielder? Striker? Winger? Our team have some depth (not so deep compare to other more advance football countries) and is decent enough to be successful here in ASEAN, and even in Asia. My point isn't only for the management but for the players as well, much had been said, but the bottom-line was that some of our players acted quite unprofessionally and unpatriotic in the past. We need to focus on building a team, a more professional team who will do whatever it takes to bring glory for our motherland.... Make sense? Right?

The Defensive end. Injured Juani, Rob, Rota, cost us the game last night. Even Sato played with a broken arm/wrist. Could we tap our previous defenders for the next games? I assume that those three won't be fit until say, December. We still have Cagara (comeback?), Silva, De Murga,Sabio,Christiaens, de Jong (resigned??) van Bossche? Is Aly Borromeo still unfit? October is around the corner.

PFF needs to focus on our youth maybe our senior azkals coaching staff can help.. Our senior squad has been one of the best teams in the SEA but if you look at the other tournaments were our u23 to u16 squad participate we are still one of the worst teams. Seniors squad success can't continue if the ones that would be replacing them are still not good enough... example: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2015_AFF_U-19_Youth_Championship

I think the azkals needs to focus on getting friendlies from hard opponents. So that they can learn more and adapt to that opponent's style of play. Great teams learn from difficult opponents. Also PFF should bring back the europe training camp. Like we did in Weiss time, where the team have their training in germany. We also need to focus on grassroots. Universities should not be too strict in their football players.

Europe or mid east camps. Remember in 2012 when we finally medalled in the Challenge cup? We had a hell of a camp against Al Ahli FC the Olympic bound Socceroos among others. That was a hell of a training camp. So yeah, more intense camps rather than now where we get one friendly and 2 weeks preparation for competition. Though I do realize that those long camps cost a lot.
Maybe more fiendlies in general with stronger teams?

Friendly against stronger teams? This comes to my mind:
China - Among east asian teams, this is possible. Jordan Kuwait Lebanon Oman Saudi Arabia United Arab Emirates - This team defeated Japan in the quarter finals last Asian Cup, our last meeting this team defeated us 4-0 which led to sacking of Coach Weiss. I think they are one of the favorites.
For similar Uzbek styles:
Azerbaijan - defeated the azkals 1-0, first UEFA nation to play azkals in modern times. Kazakhstan
or Central Asian minnows:
Tajikistan Kyrgyzstan

Actually our defeat against Uzbekistan reminds me of our defeat against Turkmenistan way back 2012 AFC Challenge Cup, i hope we beat them in our next match just like we did against the Turks!

My last post above I mentioned the UAE Azkals tour, I knew I forgot one more team so I went to my game archives and saw that we played the UZBEK U23 team! We lost 3-0(I didnt finish the game, I stopped at about the 60th minute) because of some horrific defending and because the defensive 4 was just an experiment. James Yh was RB, CB were Sabio and Juani(it was his 1st Azkal game) and LB was Carli de Murga(yes LB). It was nice to see Angel G. plowing over the similar sized Uzbeks though and Denis Wolf was really fast though somewhat ineffective in this game. There were moments of dangerous Azkals offensive forays but was nevertheless quickly snuffed out by the Uzbeks.
Anyway back on topic, I think even if we dont get an official FIFA friendly game we should try playing these teams like the Olyroos and Uzbek U23 and even Arab premier league teams. With Dooleys somewhat complicated and very quickly moving formation/s we need more gametime to get our players to really know how to play as Dooley want them to play.

Second post in this forum:
What I liked about the Uzbekhs was their ability to hit medium to long range shots. If I'm not mistaken, three out of their five goals were take from near the perimeter of the box. That's one aspect of the game we don't see a lot in local Football, that medium/long range shot, and maybe the Azkals could focus on that, too.
In the UFL, I think PYH and Mark Hartmann are the most consistent in making goals out of those types of shots, but we will need more guys to be able to do that also ...

Dribbling skills. Save for Schrock but the disparity between the Uzbeks and Azkals are very clear. At least 3 goals came from a cheeky dribbling and passing between them. Same when you watch our team against the Thais you can see how comfortable they are with the ball.
