A lot of things can happen from today.. now we've seen what our weakest points are, I'm sure they can be worked on for a better chance. I'm glad we finally decided to try out for the World Cup qualifiers. So proud of our boys, we can see the quality is there, we just need to work out a few things and we're as damn good as any Asian threat.

First, let's see if we can actually win the AFF Suzuki Cup next time around. Then we can talk about our chances in the AFC. Then... I'd be a very happy man if I were to see the Azkals play in the World Cup in my lifetime.

Joining world cup qualifiers is a good idea, we dont expect to qualify but playing the game will be good exposure, that will be more futbol news on our local daily as long as we dont loss by a very big margin. If we play WC qualifier we can can host some games right? Thats revenue right there. We need to be involved with the rest of the futballing world.

WORLD CUP! it's great that we're even trying for it. Better to try for something than sit on the sidelines and tell ourselves that we can't succeed. Baby steps, people....baby steps...

Personally, I don't see World Cup 2014, or even World Cup 2018 happening right now for our team. Football's about team structure and team jelling. How long have they been training together? What I'm saying is, focusing on long term goals is more important than the status quo. I don't know, maybe it's because there has been a sudden upthrust of football craze here in the country. But what happens when we stop winning big games like AFF? Do we stop supporting them? The most important thing to do right now is for the new PFF president to increase football alleviation efforts in the country. Build a decent stadium. Provide funds for local football clubs. Watch football games in Ayala Alabang. Get your sons/daughters into the sport. There are a lot of things that you can do if you really want to help.
Also, what the Azkals have to do is move up in ranking if they really want to pursue WC. They should participate more in leagues such as AFC so they can move up. Long live Azkals!

It's a good experience if they try and compete to get an Asian slot for the world Cup but it'll be historic too even if Philippines don't make the appearance but got far enough to make historic feats for the country. It's a tall order, your facing the powerhouses of Asia: Japan, S. Korea, Australia Iran and Saudi Arabia

asian qualifying:
we could be seeded in the high 20's or lower 30's. with the current team and a good draw we could move to second round where the 8 lowest ranked teams will play for a chance to move to the next round. it will tough in the group stages to get a win but the opportunity to measure yourself against s. korea, japan and others will be a tremendous experience for the national team.

I have no intention being pessimistic but I would have to terriblerefereeing. Philippine Football has a long way to go..On its current setup we would have to rely on Fil-Foreigners to be competitive internationally..
What's good right now is that Football is very much live. It is very visible to the public right now. I how PFF should take this opportunity while "the metal is still hot" for we don't know if this would hold its ground long enough because most of the fans are just bandwagon fans. They are not really football fans. Hopefully, uphill football craze continues and football will be at par with basketball.
If another catalyst can take place, maybe from (gov't and private co's); example: creation of football leagues, creation of staduim meeting atleast international standards, sucessful scouting thru the grassroots programs proposed..etc..maybe FIFA 2014 or 2018 is doable..but first things first..let us retool our rooster, improve our skills and dominate in our region..then dominate in asia and from there World Cup..
