The road to France starts here (FIFA.com) 02 Apr 2017 Stephanie Al-Naber Women’s Jordan national team player 0 2018 AFC Women's Asian Cup Jordan 2018 qualifiers run from 3-12 April Winners of groups qualify for AFC Women's Asian Cup Jordan 2018 Matches take place in Korea DPR, Palestine, Tajikistan and Vietnam Asian teams begin their long journey to the FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019™ on Monday as 18 sides, plus Jordan, battle it out in four groups to secure one of the four remaining places at the 2018 AFC Women’s Asian Cup. Despite qualifying automatically as hosts, Jordan will contest the qualifiers to gain valuable match experience. The five best teams at the Women’s Asian Cup will book their tickets to the biggest tournament of all in France. Heavyweights collide In Group A, Jordan can concentrate fully on building on their strengths and analysing their weaknesses. The West Asian side, who also competed at the 2014 edition of the competition, face Bahrain, Iraq, Tajikistan, Philippines and United Arab Emirates. Should Jordan finish top of their group, the runners-up will qualify for the 2018 Women’s Asian Cup. “We have an exceptional team,” said Noura Al-Mazrouei in an interview with FIFA.com ahead of her first Women’s Asian Cup qualification campaign with UAE. “Thanks to the wonderful job done by those responsible for women’s football in the Emirates, we have lifted our game to another level in recent years. All of the players are excited about the challenge ahead of us and keen to return home with a starting place at the Asian Cup.” Currently tenth in the FIFA/Coca-Cola Women’s World Ranking, Korea DPR are clear favourites in Group B. Nevertheless, the three-time Asian champions face a considerable obstacle on their route to the top in the shape of Korea Republic. Coach Yoon Dukyeo’s side finished second at the Cyprus Cup in March, having previously secured a fourth-place finish at the 2014 Women’s Asian Cup. Another team worth looking out for are Hong Kong, who clinched third place in 1979 and have been runners-up twice, in 1981 and 1989. Fresh from making their FIFA Women’s World Cup debut in 2015, Thailand have a good chance of topping Group C after both Lebanon and Guam withdrew from the qualifying tournament. Their greatest rivals will be Chinese Taipei, who won the competition in 1977, 1979 and 1981. Excitement also awaits in Group D. While Vietnam will be aiming to qualify for their eighth Women’s Asian Cup, Singapore will also be determined to leave their mark on proceedings. “The team have been steadily preparing for qualification by playing several friendlies,” explained Singapore head coach Chen Cai Ying. “Although we have a young squad with an average age of 22.52 and will meet stiff opposition in Vietnam and Myanmar, we will give it our best and try to improve on our previous performances against these sides.” Qualifying groups at a glance: Group A: Jordan, Philippines, Bahrain, Iraq, United Arab Emirates, Tajikistan Group B: Korea Republic, Uzbekistan, Hong Kong, India, Korea DPR Group C: Thailand, Chinese Taipei, Palestine Group D: Vietnam, Myanmar, Iran, Syria, Singapore www.fifa.com/womens-football/news/y=2017/m=4/news=the-road-to-france-starts-here-2878437.html

I think the PFF Philippine Women's League really helped the local players prepare for this tournament as even the high school players on the team who played in this competition was able to keep up. Irish Navaja has been named the player of the game after scoring and assisting on goals!

The Profiles Section is for capped players both men's and women's just like the Scouting section is for potential national team players. You basically start a thread on each player that has been capped. It is a section of honor, that shows that these players/managers/coaches have made it to the national team. It is not enough though to be called up for players. You need to be capped or be on the field at some point in the game for the national team.

05 April 2017 Philippines And Iraq Set For AFC Asian Cup Jordan 2018 Qualifiers Match Day 2 The Philippine Women’s Team is set to face Iraq after a convincing 4-0 win against United Arab Emirates in match day 1 of the AFC Asian Cup Jordan 2018 Qualifiers. Goals were scored by Eva Madarang on the 14thand 45th minute, Irish Navaja on the 49th, and Sara Castaneda on the 54th. Click here to watch the match highlights. “I’m very happy that we won our first game.” Expressed team captain Patrice Impelido in relation to the match against UAE. “We worked hard during our camp and you can see it paid off. We were able to move the ball around and keep possession. It was a team effort. It’s always good winning the first game of the tournament. We can use that momentum into the next game against Iraq. We all have the same goal in mind: AFC Women’s Asian Cup Jordan 2018. But we can’t get a head of ourselves and we need to take it one game at a time.” The team did a training session yesterday in preparation for Iraq who recently played against Tajikistan and lost 1-0. One obstacle they are trying to overcome is the significant drop in temperature in comparison to Philippine climate. Their match is on 05 April 2017, 1:00PM at the Republican Central Stadium in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. “The coaches have seen the match between Iraq and Tajikistan so they will be able to discuss their tactics and which players to look out for. They do a good job to help us prepare for our game.” Philippines currently sit at 2nd place in group A, trailing Jordan on goal differentials.
