It is fair to assume that Eriksson's contract is finished. Also with the Younghusbands being used as subs and Schrock retiring, we can assume that the Azkals are now undergoing the "rebuilding process"(comparing the current 2019 team with the 2010 team). Powerhouse Germany's NT is currently undergoing this process for the last 2 yrs. and still not there yet, considering their performance in the UEFA Cup and the World Cup. This, with all the German football teams, academies, clubs and etc.,etc. It is NOT easy to do even with a solid "farming system" like the German's.
The Question: Where is the PFF "farming system"? Does it even exist? A bunch of kids playing kick ball and random passing is NOT football. All over the country there were a lot of weekend local football tournaments and competitions. This is the typical question, "Quantity vs Quality".
Once the PFF youth teams, ie. U23 and below, starts being competitive against our SEA neighbors, then we can say that there is a PFF grassroot training. Other than that, the PFF will be relying for that half Filipino version of Messi and Ronaldo to knock on their door, wanting to play for the Azkals. This event is NOT deterministic, rather stochastic. Just like winning the lotto. How can they rebuild with this farming strategy, and how many years will it take?

Things I learned from this tournament and my thoughts of this.
1. This is our first try so making here is already an achievement. Hoping we will be regulars for Asia's best football tournament.
2. Good grassroots really paid off. Look at Vietnam's success. Reached the Quarter Finals before bowing to Japan 1-0. Hope this will be addressed this year and by the PPL.
3. Frankly speaking, having a world class coach won't guarantee you success. It's just papers. Hard work and perseverance matters.
4. After this tournament. Azkals will have a major revamp as some players will retire (probably Schrock) and new players will come in.
5. More friendlies will open for Azkals especially stronger opponents as they faces the Goliath teams with great performance.

1. Considering it's a 24-team tournament, we should expect to be regulars in this tourney (FIFA ranks us 21st among AFC nations)
2 - 3. Agreed.
4. There are already some ready in the pipeline. Hopeful that we can give the retiring (from international duty) guys get a proper send-off. This is where 5. comes in handy.
