It is good to see the locals get some playing time. The PFL and the UFL has helped raised the level of our players to a good international standard. Hopefully they can raise their level even further for the higher ranked teams from Group A. Man of the Match : Casas

Palestine 1:0 Nepal
This sets up the schedule 9 Oct : Philippines v Tajikistan 10 Oct : Palestine v Laos
12 Oct : SF Winner 1 v SF Winner 2
The Azkals should be competitive for this one. I like their chances for beating Tajikistan.

I like their chances for beating Tajikistan. I hope so. However, if Tajikistan brought their A team and we brought our B or C team, we might be at a disadvantage, but hopefully we can overcome the odds.

Didn't get to see game. From the writeup in Rappler ( link) looks like Tajikistan was the better team. Chalk this up to gaining experience for some of those who play limited minutes with the national team. And also for the new coaching staff. In that respect, this "friendly" tournament played its purpose.

The Azkals had about the same number of attempts but the finishing was just dismal. By the second half, we had the bulk of the possession but we seem to lose the ball in the final third or could not connect to the target man. The Tajiks had a sound game plan. The central midfield was beaten for the first time in the tourney.
A lot of our players had their best performance in this tournament. Daniels was unstoppable vs TJK. Casas is the best player for the Philippines here. But an important revelation is Clarino in defense. It's good to know that him and Aguinaldo are the CBs we'll be depending on in the future.
