Again, another player on Football Manager. Says he plays in the centre of the park. He'd function well in a box-to-box role because he can create, tackle, and score. A smart player with decent stamina too, though he lacks a bit of pace and technical skills. Still, de'd be a great addition to the team, I think. Hope he still has interest in our team, because at 29, he only has about 5 years of peak performance ahead of him.

Ive been playing a manager game, but its FIFA Manager by EAsports not Football Manager. In FIFA Manager 11 only Niel Ethridge is listed, the older De Guzman is listed as Filipino but Canada is his first country. Ill try to check the other Filipinos later if they are in the game. I try to edit the whole UFL league on the game editor so I can play as a coach of a UFL team, it takes a lot of work thou.

filipinofootball.blogspot.com/2011/01/new-contract-with-azkals-coach-still-up.htmlAmong those who expressed desire to join the team is Dennis Cagara, who was represented by Jerry Lucena, a veteran midfielder playing in the Danish League.
Such a strage report. I'll take this as an inaccuracy and interpret this as Jerry Lucena is interested and has indicated that his former teammate at AGF Aarhus also interested but could not attend. I don't know how else to read the report since I've never heard of Lucena being an agent as well as a player, and why he would represent Cagara without any incentive for himself? Anyway, I hope Jerry and Dennis make it to the tryouts. Go Azkals!

Maybe Lucena talked to Mr.Palami and Cagaca was not around, Jerry Lucena told him that Dennis Cagaca wants to play to. Would that be the case? I dont know. Your right xyz1000 confusing, hope they can both play.

^ Pictures are out and we know that Dennis Cagara was the one who met with the Boss. This leads me to believe that Jerry told Dennis (they know each other after all) that he wants to play and Dennis then should relay that to the Boss (that Jerry wants in). But yeah, that part of the article was a bit confusing.

The problem with our Fil-Danish players such as Dennis Cagara and Jerry Lucena is that the Danish Goverment doesn't allow dual citizenship.

Fil-Danish raring to play for Azkals by Peter Atencio
FILIPINO-Danish football pro Jerry Lucena is upbeat of his coming stint in the Philippines as a member of the Azkals, the country’s national football squad, which will face Mongolia at the start of the home-and-away series on Feb. 9 at the Panaad Stadium in Bacolod.
In an overseas telephone interview, the 30-year-old Lucena told Manila Standard that he’s now getting ready to go to Manila and is hoping that all his papers, including his Philippine passport, will be in order in time for the tournament.
“Yes, hopefully all the paper works will be in order before any of this can happen,” said Lucena, whose father Ruben hails from Iriga City in Camarines Sur. His mom, Elise, is a native of Copenhagen in Denmark.
Lucena is one of three professional soccer players directly accepted into the Azkals’ roster, along with another Fil-Danish booter in Dennis Cagara and Fil-German Stephan Markus Schrock.
Lucena has played professional soccer in Denmark for the last 12 years, first for Esbjerg from 1999 to 2007, and for AGF-Aarhus afterwards.
He was also a member of the Denmark’s national under-21 team during his younger years.
Lucena, who stands 5’9,” said he has been training for the last two weeks after the winter break, and added that he’s looking forward to joining the three-day tryouts for new members of the Azkals which started yesterday at the University of Makati.
“I am looking forward to it (joining the Azkals). It is exciting that I will be able to help raise the level of Philippine football after playing for more than 10 years,” added Lucena.

I don't think he will be able to play on Feb. 9. After taking care of his citizenship and passport issues, he also has to apply for a one time switch from Fifa, since he played on the Danish youth teams. Same thing with Dennis Cagara. Process also takes time.

Here is a translated interview he made after returning to Denmark:
Lucena has the courage of more team ball
Jerry Lucena has just returned from a training camp with the Philippine national team, and AGF-player clearly has the courage anymore. 30-year-old Jerry Lucena was born in Denmark, but the father is Filipino, and after several tributaries and inquiries from the Filipino associations through the years, Lucena so just now returned to AGF after a training camp with the Philippine national team.
- It was a really good experience. It was exciting to be down there and see it all. It has only been positive, so I can take on more. I'm glad that I took the decision to give it a chance, "says Jerry Lucena to AGF's website.
- I do not yet know when I can play for the Philippines. There is no paperwork, which must first be in place and when it's done, I'll look at the dates along with AGF. It all must fall appropriate for both club and me, "says AGF's right-back.
Lucena said there were plenty of talented footballers at the meeting, but he also stresses that the difference between the best and worst players were bigger than he was accustomed.
_________________________________________
This is quite upbeat as he was unsure when he left Denmark. This was his interview before he left:
Lucena selected for the Philippine training camp
Jerry Lucena is one step closer to debut on the Philippine national team. He must be at training camp with the Philippines in early February. The Danish team is probably no longer an option for AGFs Jerry Lucena, now instead looking to the Philippines. Lucena has Filipino background, and therefore he can play on the national team for the nation, which has now taken him to a training camp.
- I have not yet decided whether I will play on the Filipino team. There are still some situations that I should have clarified, but the training session is a good opportunity to see it all the way and the thought is that I take over and have a chat with the coach and connected, says Lucena to the club's website.
- It's not much, I know the players and levels, but it could be an exciting experience to get by. It would be quite an adventure, but as I said, I have not made up my mind whether I want to say yes to it.
Thank Lucena agreed to play for the Philippines, he may debut 15th March against Mongolia.
