This is the translation for the first article above acc. to google translate:
Lucena Filipino FOOTBALL ADVENTURE 05-04-2011 09:47:29 <<BACK For the first time ever, the Philippines qualified for the finals of the AFC Challenge Cup and a AGF'er has large stake in their success.
First Hobro, then Palestine and Bangladesh. AGF's Jerry Lucena saw last week a scene change of the greats. The postponement of the away game against Hvidovre opened up that he could enroll under the Philippine Football tabs and participate in the group stage of the AFC Challenge Cup, a qualifying tournament for the Asian Cup.
Lucena, born and raised in Denmark with a Danish mother and Filipino father, participated earlier this year in a team meeting in the Philippines with the revised match point in the first Division was the way for national team debut paved.
Just a few days after he helped to secure 2-0 victory over Hobro in spring premiere, he was therefore at a stadium in Myanmar wearing national jersey for "Azkals" ("wild dogs") which philippines popularly called their national teams and hummed in good faith with the fi lippinske national anthem "Lupang Hinirang."
- I have not heard the national anthem so often, and when it was played before the second match, I was actually thinking that I'd better be getting it abolished, so I can learn it, "says Jerry Lucena. (Acc. to a Danish friend in another website, the proper translation is: I have not heard the national anthem that often, so when it was played before the second match, I was actually standing there thinking, that I'd better get it, so that I can learn it, " Jerry Lucena said.) ;D
National song was just one of the many things that were new to AGF'eren, and overall the experience has given him courage more national team football.
- It's been a great experience and incredibly exciting to be a part of. It has certainly given me a taste and I am looking to get out on new adventures, "says the 30-year AGF'er.
Football Fever That so far has been an adventure for Lucena, not least because he and team mates rather have kick-started a Filipino football fever. Island kingdom with around 90 million inhabitants have never had the great tradition of football. Position number 151 in FIFA's world rankings speak for themselves, but it's Football Association is committed to change. A German national coach has been hired and a powerful team is being built. Semi-Filipinos, who play in European leagues, has been affiliated, and the struggles of AFC Challenge Cup showed that efforts have already borne fruit.
1-1 against Myanmar, 0-0 against Palestine and 3-0 against Bangladesh meant so that the Philippines for the first time qualified for the finals of the AFC Challenge Cup, and performance has not gone unnoticed.
- There are almost widespread football fever. People are up and running, because it is the first time they have gone further. Yes, after the last match went people crazy - as if they had won the World Cup. It also means a lot that we will succeed, because there is a need for publicity and sponsors, if the positive trend should continue, says Lucena.
In the general population is boxing and basketball remained the most popular sports, but Lucena would not be surprised if football can eventually squeeze in front of basketball.
- Boxing is the largest, because the world's two best boxers currently Filipinos. When Manny Pacquiao, for example, boxing title fights, the streets completely deserted. Basketball has always been great, but I think they're about to find out that they have a greater chance to assert themselves in football. They're not the highest, so physically fit football better for them, "says Jerry Lucena.
Tactical skills It was only the second time that he was away with the national team, but he was positively surprised by the progress that had already happened.
- It is obviously difficult to assess the level. It's not insanely loud but not insanely bad. It was significantly better compared to last time I was joined by the team and the main thing is that it gets better and better, and that it evolves in a positive direction, "said Lucena, who in the fighting in Myanmar appeared on the central midfield and has particularly helped with his tactical training.
- I am first and foremost to make the team tactically stronger. I need help with, that we constantly are well on the pitch and defend us in a sensible way and I also think defensive worked fine in the fighting, "said Lucena.
6.9 on Richter scale He has been back in Denmark now ten days - rich in many new impressions and experiences. One had, however, he would have done without. While the team was in Myanmar, the country was hit by an earthquake which was measured at 6.9 on the Richter scale - just 13 days after the earthquake disaster in Japan.
- It was a little scary, and we could not avoid feeling it. We were in our rooms as the entire hotel and suddenly began to swing. It was not so long, but it was a tremendous experience - also because we had an earthquake in Japan fresh in his mind. Yes, my teammates were actually at training camp in Japan when the earthquake took place here, so they thought it pursued them. Fortunately my family not to get restless and I could call and say to them that everything was okay, "said Lucena.
The earthquake has not removed the impression of an exciting trip that he would like to reiterate, when it fits in AGF's program.
The next major task for the Philippine team is World Cup qualification kationskampe in June and July, and in March next year is the finals of the AFC Challenge Cup. Certainly with Lucena on the team - ready for new Philippine football adventure ...

Just wanted to mention that Jerry Lucena nearly did not make it for this tournament acc. to my Danish friend. Here is what he had to say prior to the tournament:
Because Benny Feilhaber (USA), Aron Johannsson (Iceland u21) and Kasper Povlsen (Denmark u21) all are leaving for international duty this week, AGF Aarhus have managed to get the Danish FA to reschedule this weeks 1. Division match against Hvidovre, which then also has made it possible for Jerry Lucena to join the NT squad straight away and play AFC Challenge Cup...

Great to know that Jerry Lucena is putting an effort learning our National Anthem. I don't really mind our fil-foreigners if they don't know or doesn't want to know our national anthem but learning that Jerry wants to learn the anthem and through his own initiative is a good influence for the other Fil-Foreigners.

Actually, Dan Palami tweeted this last March 28th:
"enjoining all AZKALS to spend time, during the break, learning the Philippines National Anthem (Lupang Hinirang)."
It is nice that Jerry is making the effort to learn it as opposed to abolishing it as the original translation said. ;D
I also like the fact that he is helping in organizing the defence as the Danes are known for their tactical savvy, which is essential in the attack oriented formation that Coach Weiss prefers to employ. Ever since Lucena has joined the team, even though it has only been two games, we have not given up a goal.

The last 3 goals that we conceded are from set pieces. So that means that in game, we have a pretty much solid defense.

Here is my friend's translation on the interviews: Ther are also a few new interviews on kanalsport.dk about his NT debut and experience... He mention, that ther is no real language problem, since the coach and players speak English and German. He is also saying that it is an all together positive and good experience for him. He is also praising the fans and the "football fever" that he think is now spreading because of the national team. But it is a national team in progress, that still has much to learn and they do not have that many real professional players, so the NT training is not quite comparable with training at club level (for AGF) in Denmark : www.kanalsport.dk/index.php/tv/clip_id=39367and www.kanalsport.dk/index.php/tv/clip_id=39441..as for the games he has played, he is saying that they were playing against a physical strong team from Palestine. He think they played an ok match, but had trouble against some physical strong players, but still secured a 0-0 result. in the 3rd match he think they played a really good match against Bangladesh. Once again he praise the fans (and also the reporters at the games) for being highly enthusiastic and easily excited. Then he is asked what kind of footballe is it ?, and what is his role in the team and on the pitch ?... and his answer is, that he is there to keep it tight tactically, being the tactical "stick" on the team, helping his team-mates to be in the right place (on the pitch), so that the team keep focus on the tactical aspect at all time, which can be a problem for NTs like this, even if the players are quick and possess good technical skills. He finish by saying, that the more he has been with the NT, the more important it has become for him, and that he is thinking much about the great experience it has been and that he feel that it is an experience for life. So he is looking forward to the next time and the only negative side is, that he has to be away for his family this much, so he hope he will be able to bring them along sometimes. _______________________________________ I like the fact that he considers his role as an organizer for the defence. My friend who is a fan of Jerry's club Aarhus where he lives, describes Jerry as a leader and would make a good captain for any team. The Danes are known for being tactically savvy and Jerry can bring a lot of that knowledge to the Azkals and help organize the defence. This is especially important for me, as you know from reading my posts, I have criticized our team for our defensive lapses in the 2 Mongolia games and and for the tactical naivete' that they have exhibited. Hopefully Jerry's presence in the middle of the defence, helps overcome those shortcomings. So far we have not conceded a goal when he was present so our outlook does look more promising.

Jerry Lucena`s team AGF Aarhus was promoted to the Danish Superliga. Jerry has not been playing in last matches because of a problem with his achilles.
He will not be be going to training camp in Germany except for maybe a few days to visit the team. The club`s medical team will decide after Summer break on June 22 if he is is fit to play matches for Philippines against Sri Lanka.
Stiften
Of course Manila Bulletin quoted Ace Bright last week, that Lucena was arriving last Saturday and i guess he didn't. Hope he gets well fast enough to join the WC qualifiers in Sri Lanka.
