Sorry if we already have a thread about Jason Sabio, but I really can't find any.
Any feedback or remarks about our super sub for the Mongolia first leg?
All I can remember is his monster throw-in from that game and that he actually gave the assist for the second goal during the game (is that right?)

with him playing alongside borromeo and del rosario in kaya fc, i expect jason sabio to become much better defender in the future.. he can get insights about the game with the help of our captain aly borromeo and veteran defender anton del rosario under the guidance of ex rp coach cutillas..

Jason just tweeted this: Magandang tanghali sa inyong lahat! Just signed my contract with @kayafc Now time for training. Enjoy the rest of the day! #unakaya -@jsabio3 So, apparently, he just left Rocket City United after the his last appearance in the 2011 NPSL Season. Hope he has a bright future at Kaya this UFL season. And more appearances for the national team too!

Sabio is reportedly staying in the PI for one year playing in the UFL, and will then return to the US continuing his law school. If he won't be offered a post in a law firm in Alabama after graduation, he might sign in for a pro soccer club there for sure.

i doubt he'll be able to find an mls team in the united states based on what i saw in his performances. maybe a USL-pro league. besides, from what i've read, he sounds like he's more committed to being a lawyer than being a professional player.

With Jason Sabio performing better now with possibly a more established role in the national team as a starter or sub, I wonder if he will postpone his law studies to continue playing for awhile longer. If I were him, I would continue playing. Your playing career is limited and your memories of playing internationally in different arenas will last a lifetime while you can always continue with your law school after your career is over. Paulino Alcantara did it before becoming a doctor and others players in various sports have done so as well before continuing their graduate studies. Heck, one former American MLS player even decided to spend a few years playing professional football in Chile before deciding to hang up his boots to become a Catholic priest!

I love seeing Sabio doing those long throws. The way he uses his whole body to throw the ball, it's so fun to watch. And he throws it real long ha.

Jason supposedly only signed up for a year to play in the PI while delaying his studies. That being said, he signed his 1 year contract in Aug, that gives him 6 more months to go! Hopefully he changes his mind and stay as long as coaches are willing to include him in the NT roster. In my opinion(despite last nights last second goal allowed under his watch) he has eclipsed Gier in the CB position. If you twitter watch it also seem he is very much in love with a local girl and this could be something that keeps him in the PI longer. Err, and the fame and fortune that goes along with it

Wow Wiking,
I didn't know the latest chismis. So he has a girl in Manila hey. That is good news. That combined with the desire to play for the Azkals might just make him stay longer. Law school can wait. It will still be there after he retires from the national team. As I said your playing career is limited. Pursue it while you can physically can and then go to law school.
As for him eclipsing Gier, if he continues to play this way, I agree. The key is how he performs in the Challenge Cup. Him and a healthy Borromeo would make a dominant centerback pair.

Err, and the fame and fortune that goes along with it ...and that local girl is apparently the daughter of a celebrity dermatologist! ;D I do hope Sabio extends his contract with Kaya. He is after all seeking a sporting career if he would be unlucky to make the cut to a law firm in Alabama. With all the perks and all as part of the Azkals, he shouldn't miss the chance to have this opportunity going.

If I remember it correctly, I read a tweet from Jason saying thank you to this "girl" because apparently she made some inquiries and said that he can continue his law studies here. Hopefully he considers that option and stay with his club and the NT.
