So he is pure pinoy right not half? Commentators say na Aly is pure pinoy with Spanish heritage who grew up in SF, the US of A... It's a pity though that Aly didn't play in Europe or even in Asian Clubs cause he is really a good and skilled defender slash great utility player.

He even played for La Salle Greenhills in High School and joined Kaya FC at 15 or 16 along with Anton del Rosario as his coach in Kaya here states: Phra Rudz Abu hra Rudz Abu @jack anton del rosario has always been with kaya, and fyi, aly and anton grew up with kaya they came in as 15 or 16 year olds in the team, in fact as a little bit of trivia, aly's position back then was gk=} (can you believe this??? ask aly). unfortunately there has been very little futbol news in the past, that's why a lot of people don't know about this........(i would know coz am one of the founding members of kaya in 1996)......dan, thanks pa rin for releasing aly, you are a true sportsman bro!!! mabuhay ang pinoy futbol!!! January 22 at 7:52pm · Like As for Aly's lineage, there is actually a book sold on Amazon.com about the Borromeo family of Cebu that traces the lineage of the Borromeos acc. to this website: www.theborromeofamily.com/the-borromeo-family-in-the-philippines/They trace their lineage all the way to Lombardy, Italy then Spain to finallly the Philippines many generations ago.

It is true that Aly was a goalie when younger. I met a guy in Cebu some years back, and he said he remember when Aly was 12 and they played a 7aside tournament and Aly was goalie for one of the teams. Aly is def a talented player. He plays most positions and he scores alot of goals for Kaya. He is a good player, but not good enough to play in Europe. Didnt he get offers from Asian clubs after the Suzuki cup? Anyway, he has got everything in life, maybe thats why he dont want to try and pursue a football career in Asia.

Borromeo looks asian to me. With or without spanish blood, he looks like Chinese.
del Rosario looks asian too. Again, he looks Chinese.
People often mistake being pretty or in that case gwapo of being a european trait. Normal pinoys look ugly because they are ugly. Good looking pinoys are good looking because they good looking and not because of some remnant spanish trait.

A little bad news for Aly today:
From Kaya FC Facebook & Twitter: Sad sad news, our captain Aly Borromeo tore his ACL in our game today. Please pray for his safe and speedy recovery! Despite being sidelined for a while you'll always be our Captain in Kaya FC and for the Azkals! Get well soon @alybor11!
This injury will definitely take months to recover. With less than 5 months before the Challenge Cup, this is definitely a shakeup for both the club and the national team.

When I heard about his injury, first thing I did was look up the recovery time for ACL surgery. Depending on option he chooses or is given to him, 5 months is when he can start practicing so he's going to be no where near match fit then. I hope I'm wrong. This is a huge blow for the NT and obviously to the Capt! Get well soon brother...

This is a big blow to our AFC Challenge Cup hopes. It is even more important now that we get our European based players on the team. Lucena played the centerback position quite well in our friendlies so I would put him there. Anyways, Get well soon Aly.
