Indonesia is full of Papua new guineans too, (Oktomanianus, Patrik Wanggai, Titus Bonai) i consider them IMPORTS regardless of what they say. They are Indonesians just like our Aetas are Filipinos.
Indonesia is just near Papua New Guinea so people from that country traveled to Indonesia way back then. That's the reason why there is a city in Indonesia where in you can find Indonisians who looks like Papua New Guineans.
The Western part of New Guinea is considered a province of Indonesia although there is a separatist New Guinean movement over there. It is different from independent Papua New Guinea which is in the East. However all New Guineans are essentially of the same racial stock similar to our Aetas, and differs from the Austronesian majority in Indonesia and the Philippines.

LOL relax people, thats why i said "REGARDLESS" of what they say. no need to argue about geography or history. I just think of them as imports even though west papua is in indonesia, i consider them as papua new guineans instead of true indons. Geez this is an AZKAL forum, not a GARUDA forum is it?
Thanks anyway

Okay folks. Please do not use the term shortcut "Indons" when referring to Indonesians. It has a negative connotation to it from the perspective of the Indonesians. This is especially important since we have members here who are actually from Indonesia and might get offended. The proper terminology would be Indos.
BTW, although this is indeed primarily a Filipino forum, a lot of visitors and members are actually from abroad, who are very interested and in many cases have become fans of our national team and our program. So we need to practice a little bit of sensitivity in regards to discussing other nations so we can project a welcoming environment to them. I think it is a privilege that we have acquired so many fans from all over the world(I know this because I participate in other forums like bigsoccer with members from abroad who have taken an interest in our muliticultural national team) and we should not abuse that privilege by being rude to them. Besides they have been very helpful for example in the case of mrpmosh who is from Mexico, in helping to translate articles written in a foreign language such as Spanish, on our players to English. I have also had Dutch and German fans of the Azkals translate similar articles and videos as well. So let us show our appreciation by showing a little respect when they visit here.

Thanks for the clarification cjeagle. You are right. Papuan player like okto, boaz, wanggai and bonai are not Papua Nugineans, They are from west papua. They don't like to be called Papua New Nugineans. Players from West papua usually faster and more skillful compare to other players from other parts of Indonesia. There are 4 clubs from West Papua province that played in the Top Tier of Indonesian football last season. They are Persipura Jayapura : Persiwa Wamena Persidafon Dafonsoro Persiram Raja Ampat

When will a prestigious team visit us It will only happen when it makes financial sense for them to do so starting with having a stadium that can hold huge number of fans to help defray the cost. Besides these clubs are not always a blessing. As in a lot of these cases, many local fans are so enamored with these big clubs from Europe that they have stopped supporting their own local clubs and national team as is the case with Singapore and only show up at the stadiums when a big club is in town. Fortunately we haven't reached that stage of snobbishness yet and our fans are still focused mostly with the national team and local clubs.

How about the other SEA team? have they released their squad for the AFF?
anyway, here is a couple video : An interview with Alfin Tuasalamony, Indonesian Young player in CS Visse (2nd Tier Belgium)
And also a highlight of Syamsir Alam :

I don't see Christian Gonzales on that list. What happened to him?
Good group of foreign based players. What is their club's schedule like? Has their club agreed to release them for this tournament? If you are like the Philippines, they won't know until November who will actually be available among the foreign based players.

tatotop,
I forgot to ask. Has the ISL agreed to release their players? Last I heard, during the callup for the last friendly, they refuse to do so. They even formed their own national team under Alfred Riedl. So have the 2 groups declared a truce already?

Christian Gonzales didn't play a good season last season, so maybe the coach didn't call him to join the national team. Christian Gonzales is now with the other national team under Alfred Riedl. Last Friday the KPSI refused to released the ISL players to the National team since they formed their own national team. But after the ASEAN Football Federation made a statement that the team that will represent Indonesia is the one that under official PSSI, it seems the president of KPSI will agree release the ISL players soon.
And just an info the Alfred Riedl team is now in Australia and just played a friendly match against an amateur team and won 0-8. That was sad, they planned to go there and play against the A-league clubs but instead the A-league clubs doesn't want to play against this team since it is not the official Indonesia Team. From the report of that match it seems the players is unhappy after they know that the team that will represent Indonesia in AFF cup is not their team. I hope this problem will be solved before AFF Cup
Regarding the foreign based players, The players 4 players from CS Visse already got their permission from their club to join the national team. For Van Beukering , he already got a permission from his club to join the national team, but he is a bit injured so he will come around November. As for Lilipaly, he didn't get the permission yet to join the national team from his club for now, so probably he will join in the end of November.

It's odd Cristian's surname is Gonzáles when a patronymic name in Spanish end in -ez (in fact Speedy Gonzáles was mispelled lol)... maybe it's part the Brazilian influence in Uruguay (patronymics in Portuguese end in -es). Just a fun fact.
