I think if you play for the ISL, you're not permitted to play in any Fifa regulated matches.

he might be too expensive. the ISL pays handsomely esp. for a J1 or J2 veteran like Otomo basically in the 6 figures annually in dollars.
But if he does join the team, I heard from Indonesian sources that he was a pretty good midfielder that could have easily have made the Indonesian national team in his prime. He certainly would have been ahead of Moy, de Jong, or Bahadoran as a midfield sub.
He was already asked a couple of years ago to join the national team, prior to the emergence of the team in the Suzuki Cup, but turned it down at that time. From what I have read of his posts later on though, he was open to the idea in the future.

Hope he's interested in joining. Could provide some veteran presence. More of a holding midfielder perhaps?

I think if we ask him again he'll consider it. The large skill disparity in our midfield after Angel and James were suspended in the Turkmenistan game was or should be a cause for concern. Though I think defensive wise they were still just as good with some of the subs in there.
PFF!!

Thanks for the updates on this guy. He's turning 33 in a few weeks, so it might be too late for him to make a run for an Azkals spot as a midfielder.
