Yes he would be a great addition to the squad. I wonder where Weiss is going to play him though as he can play both right back and right midfield.

I read about that, his mom hails from Cebu same as Ray Jonsson (Ray's middle name is Pepito, a well known name in northern Cebu, they're found in Consolacion, Lilo-an and Carmen towns, mostly is in Lilo-an.) I have a friend whose surnamed Pepito. He's excited to be with his new squad, our wingers will be rock solid if Dennis Cagara's hot left foot on the left flank. Ray's mom is from Liloan.

I'd play him in midfield vs Sri Lanka, and back to the right back if we face Kuwait.

I'd play him in midfield vs Sri Lanka, and back to the right back if we face Kuwait. Where would you place James Younghusband if Schrock is at right mid? I also prefer Schrock at right mid for both opponents.

Stephan Schrock gave an interview recently at PFSA:
2.Was kannst du nicht leiden?
Stephan: Bananen ;-)
3.Welche Musik hörst du gerne?
Hip Hop & R’n‘B
Apparently he is getting married in May before joining training camp in the Philippines. He was also asked which celebrity he would like to have dinner with and he answered Manny Pacquiao which is not surprising since apparently his father was a boxer and he would often go with him when he trains.

I'm curious how Stephan will develop within the Azkal Team. I'm sure he will grab it.

Here is an excerpt from an interview he gave in Spox back in 8/10 that was related to why he chose the Philippines:
SPOX: You're considered one of the most talented right-back in Germany and ran for DFB-junior teams - but you yourself will never participate in a major tournament probably because you have chosen the Philippines national team for each other. Why? Schroeck: There are many reasons. Perhaps the most important: For my mother would be a dream come true, if the son would accrue to their home country. With a flag, anthem and all the trimmings. Moreover, the Philippine Association has promised to take over the school fees for all my cousins there.

We all know that Stephan is earning Millions in Germany, but maybe he saw that his financial status in Germany is so far compared to his relatives back in Cebu. At least Stephan is also concerned of his Filipino cousins. How can that not be a Filipino trait?? hehe

Other nations have been known to pay some compensation to their players. So, Schrocky asking for help for his cousins' education? It could be worse, I guess, at least he's not asking for a party with voluptuous babes in Boracay in exchange for his services.

Schrock's team is currently in 4th place fighting for the chance to get promoted to Germany's highest, the Bundesliga, with only one game left in the season. Two teams get promoted. Third place team plays the Bundesliga's third from bottom for promotion/relegation playoff.
Shrock's team SpVgg Furth needs to win and VfL Bochum needs to lose or tie in order for SpVgg Furth to finish third.
Good luck to the team! (Injured Schrock not playing)
edit/correction: Looks like Schrock played in the last match as a sub.

Schrock still needs 5 weeks to recover: sports.inquirer.net/breakingnews/breakingnews/view/20110306-323843/Azkals-leave-for-Japan-training-MondayXxx. A highly touted player of the German second division side Greuther Furth, the 24-year-old Schrock is still sidelined by a knee injury that will keep him out for the next five weeks.Palami said Schrock, who was still in crutches on Sunday, would be ready in time for the World Cup qualifiers in June. “I appreciate the interest. He said he is eager to play and I think that’s the reason why even in crutches he came over just to fix his passport,” Palami said. ganyan ang may will to play for our nation and love for their roots sa mga fil-foreigners. yung mga undecided, if sumobra na sa 1 year wag na ang mga yan. this is what our fellow pinoys who are anti half-pinoys need to see. that is one good example of dedication. ang nakikita lang kasi nila is these fil-foreigners are just using the azkals as a way to improve their career. hindi nakikita ng kapwa pinoys natin na if they need the azkals, the philippines' football needs these half-pinoys more than they need us. that's because if we go the pure local talent way which these anti half-pinoys want, there's no way we'd reach the semis in suzuki. how much more winning as top 2 in our group sa recent AFC in myanmar. hindi ko minamaliit ang talents ng local players natin, but they shouldn't be blind to see that we are still way behind in terms of experience and skill kahit sa asean level pa lang. the sport of football in the philippines will not grow if they are losing. another good thing is that the experience this half-pinoys get from their training in their respective countries are far superior from ours. that is a good thing for our local players and future like the children because they teach us what they learned. basta wag lang imports and naturalization. if medyo marami ayaw sa half-pinoys kasi di pa nila nakikita the good things it will bring to our football, mas marami ang ayaw sa imports and naturalized. maya2x niyan bubullyhin na nila mga local players natin and even the half-pinoys. Good post! They bring added quality to the team, and as the team achieves, it begins to start turning heads towards our direction. Before we know it, we'll have scouts from overseas assessing our young local talents.

Schrock's team will not get the chance for a spot through playoffs in the Bundesliga. Came down to the last game which they tied. They finished the season in 4th place. Not bad, but a 3rd place finish would've meant a playoff game to be promoted.
