Fürths Schröck: World Cup Qualifiers with PhilippinesFürth (AP) - footballer Stephen Schroeck from SpVgg Greuther Fürth is to prepare for the new Second Division season, its own way. The 24-year-old defender will give up the training camp of the "clovers" on the Austrian Walchsee and instead hopes to make his debut in the Philippine national team. On 26 June Schröck flies with the Philippine team to Sri Lanka for 29 June to play the first game of the Asian preliminary round before the World Cup qualifiers, told the Franks. On 3 July in Manila Philippines to receive the Sri Lanka leg. Schröck owns next to the German and the Philippine citizenship of his mother. In his youth, he already played some games with German youth teams, now he wants to fulfill his long cherished desire and the jersey of the Philippine variety of pull. Since Sunday Schröck bored for a week in training camp of the Philippines in Düren near Cologne. The crew of the German coach Michael Weiss, he denies two test matches against local teams. © sueddeutsche.de - published on 06.14.2011 at 14:55 clock Link: translate.google.com/translate?js=n&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&layout=2&eotf=1&sl=auto&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fnewsticker.sueddeutsche.de%2Flist%2Fid%2F1167207&act=url

And now even national player of the Philippines. On Saturday the 24-year-old broke his international debut on - it is an adventure in the Far East. Turned against Kitzingen always on the offensive with a Stephan Schröck. Photo: Schneider Kitzingen - Stephan Schröck goes into raptures when he from his second homeland, the Philippines, says: "In my heart beat two hearts, always." Fascinated, he was "from the land, people and culture," the 24-year-old said on the sidelines of the Test match against Bayern Kitzingen (9:0). Now he stands before his debut in the national team in the qualifying round for the Asian World Cup qualifying, it goes against Sri Lanka, the 168th in the FIFA world rankings. The Philippines is 155th Between them cavort illustrious teams such as Afghanistan, Bermuda and Vanuatu. The first leg will be held on Wednesday in Colombo, the return leg four days later at the National Stadium in Manila. "Within two days, the return game sold out," says Schröck. 30 000 screaming fans will be the soul from the body, it will be a new experience for him: ".. We will be there celebrated as heroes I'm curious what will come off then" Wash Genuine Franke Schröck is born in Schweinfurt, since he already plays for the youth of SpVgg Greuther Fürth. Schröck is not only a genuine Franke, he is also half-Filipino, his mother comes from the Asian island state. She raised her son alone, the Philippine culture plays in the life of Stephen Schröck therefore a major role. Also because he wanted to be a national player. Until then, it was not an easy path. Two years ago Schröck has applied for a second pass. But in Germany, he has noticed the bureaucratic mills run a little slower. The passport issue has been delayed repeatedly due to a variety of reasons. When he was in March in the Philippines, he has had a passport issued in the same place. This went much faster - and less bureaucratic. Now he can kick for the island nation. Back in March, he also met his first national team colleagues. It is a motley crew. Several of his teammates - as Schröck - grew up in Europe, but have at least one Filipino parent. They come from Denmark, England, Iceland and the Netherlands. Years ago, the association has gone on a search for kickers with European roots. Few speak Tagalog, the national language. "English but have mastered all," says Schröck. In addition, the language was not all that important, "finally we are 20 football crazy boys. That alone already connects." Schröck is something like the star of the team, even if he himself does not feel that way. No one plays so high class like him. "Of course I will also take over responsibility from my experience, I do not see myself but the other players." In Duren, the team has prepared the quality game. It also has to do with Michael White, the national coach. White is a German national, sports scientists and globetrotter. He has already worked in Rwanda and China. White came to the job in a most unusual way. The association had sought earlier this year on the Internet platform "Spox.com" after a coach. Everyone was allowed to apply, White was taken. A guy like Büskens Schröck speaks of the 46-year-olds in the highest terms, too, because white is a similar type, such as Mike Büskens, the coach of the SpVgg. Schröck does not say this just so white and Büskens are actually of a similar blow. Together, both had made two years ago, the coach ticket, attended the same course. "There are many parallels, which is quite amazing. Both are very communicative, teach a similar style," says Schröck. White are particularly suitable for the job because he is not to stiffen German virtues and accept the cultural practices. "That must be it. With a purely German way of thinking, one would not achieve much," says Schröck. How often is it accrues in the future for the Philippines is still unclear. Begins in mid-July, the second division season, he is needed on the right-back he is almost set. The Philippines should prevail against Sri Lanka, Kuwait awaits the end of July to a further preliminary round. The problem: These games do not officially belong to the FIFA calendar, the club has to leave him not so. Schröck was interested in understanding the interests of his employer, he is indeed the success of the clovers. "We play almost every year to move up, I have to weigh what is important. I would opt for Furth." When two hearts beat in one breast, not an easy choice.

on topic: I think that Schröck will prove himself as the best player of the Azkals. I mean, playing as a defender in the 2nd German league is something I can respect because most of the 2nd Bundesliga clubs can easily play in the First Belgium Division or the First Holland Division.. He used to play for the National Youth Teams of Germany, for me that's a huge indicator that he has potential. If he plays against Sri Lanka, all you guys will notice that he is very skilled. I consider him as the best defender of the Azkals. off topic: We should ask members here to translate those articles because Google Translator really sucks! I can translate Dutch, French and some German

Yeah for me those are skills that a good right defender must have. I don't think that most of the Azkals fans know how good Schröck really is and that he will become one of the most important members of the Azkals, maybe the most important. THAT IS if Weiss will use him as a right defender. If he'll put Schröck on the defensive midfielder position, I don't think Schröck will reach his full potential playing with the Azkals.. and indeed, Greuter Fürth is a very respectable team in the Germand 2nd Bundesliga. Yeah I remember them just missing the promotion to the Bundesliga.. Maybe next season, I hope! So Schröck he can prove himself to world class players like Robben and Ribéry.

www.tempo.com.ph/news.php?aid=55867Honeymoon can wait for Azkal MANILA, Philippines – Each player has given up something just to be with the Philippine football team in the World Cup qualifi ers against Sri Lanka, but none perhaps has sacrifi ced so much than Marcus Stephan Schrock. The 24-year-old Schrock, a Filipino-German, married his childhood sweetheart, Pina, on May 28 in Germany, but had to skip their honeymoon after receiving a call of national duty. The Azkals flew to Duren early June for a two-week camp and went straight to Colombo for the first leg of the qualifi er, forcing Schrock to cancel all his plans for their honeymoon. But Schrock is not complaining. “Playing for my nanay’s country is more important than personal matters,†the soft-spoken Schrock, whose mother hails from Cotabato but grew up in Cebu, told the Bulletin. The only World Cup veteran in the Azkals, having played for Germany’s Under-18 squad in the 2004 qualifiers, Schrock is one of the country’s top players. Schrock, a former German Under-17 and Under-20 player, said it may take few more months before they can set their escapade owing to his duties with his second division German team. “Boracay is our destination of choice,†said a smiling Schrock, adding that he plans to have 11 kids to form another Azkals team. National team mentor Michael Weiss lauded Schrock’s sacrifi ce for the team. “Schrock is an asset to the team,†Weiss said. A die-hard Manny Pacquiao fan, Schrock is hoping the boxing superstar, who was invited for the second leg match will show up today. “His (Pacquaio) presence would really mean a lot,†said Schrock, noting that his favorite Pacquiao performance was against Antonio Margarito.
