There are unconfirmed rumours over the interwebs that Neil Etheridge will go out on loan (again) to Charlton Athletic come this January transfer window.
If this happens, they might finally insert Csaba Somgyi as 2nd GK or recall David Stockdale from Ipswich Town.
I still have to search for confirmations.

Charleton is currently enjoying the top position at League One with a #1 goalkeeper (age 22) Ben Hamer who has started the last 12 games. Prior to that, they started the season with Robert Elliot who started 4 games and is now the #2 GK at Newcastle behind #1 Tim Krul. Point is, if Etheridge goes to Charleton again, he had better start at Charleton or else it would be a step down for him. But Charleton is doing very well with their current squad. Would they really want to change the starting lineup?

from Fulham FB page
Team News: Chris Baird and Damien Duff are available for selection on Wednesday night when Fulham face Odense BK in the UEFA Europa League at Craven Cottage. Martin Jol is hopeful Mark Schwarzer will be fit to play but Danny Murphy (ankle injury) and Steve Sidwell (hernia op) miss out.
PHL is not so hopeful for Mark... would we finally see Etheridge play for Fulham's 1st Team...

I dunno but it seems they really don't have faith in Neil even though he's been through the ringer with the Philippine NT in the past(not that I'm comparing Philippine opponents to EPL quality). What gives? They are going to need to stick Neil in there to see what quality he's got eventually, better a UEFA match than League. I suppose I'm biased though as I root for the kid and want to see him play now.

From Fulham FC website: Jol also revealed on Tuesday afternoon that two recent absentees will return to his squad for Wednesday night’s European clash whilst Steve Sidwell and Danny Murphy will miss out due to injury. Fulham’s manager is also hopeful Mark Schwarzer will be fit to face Odense BK.
“He’s [Schwarzer] got a problem in his spine but a specialist is coming to see his this afternoon [Tuesday] and we’ll make a decision. I think he’s got a great chance of playing.
"Chris Baird and Damien Duff are available. Steve Sidwell is not available because his recovery [from a hernia operation] is taking longer than we thought and Danny Murphy still has a problem with his ankle.” www.fulhamfc.com/Club/News/NewsArticles/2011/December/OdenseTeamNews.aspx#ixzz1gTNh5pa2
I'm already assuming the specialist has checked up Schwarzer last night. I hope it doesn't come up worse. But... from the tweet of Dan Palami and Cedelf Tupas: @dscpalami: so Neil Etheridge will finally make his debut in the EPL!@cedelfpt: @neil38etheridge could start for Fulham in the Europa League later. If it happens, it will be a milestone for Neil and Philippine football.I'm getting a possibility that Etheridge will play in the Europa League game against Odense BK on the 14th (tonight) and/or the Premiership home match against Bolton Wanderers on the 17th. All the best to Neil.

Here's a problem for Etheridge's debut: David StockdaleBecause his loan deal has a 24-hour recall clause, he might be the substitute GK for Schwarzer instead of Etheridge in the Europa League match later.
Stockdale fears quelled by Schwarzer injury news
By Stuart Watson Tuesday, December 13, 2011 5:44 PM FEARS that Ipswich Town loan keeper David Stockdale may be recalled by parent club Fulham have been cooled by good news regarding Mark Schwarzer’s injury. The Cottager’s veteran custodian required four minutes of treatment – before carrying on – during a 2-0 defeat at Swansea on Saturday. However, manager Martin Jol is hopeful that the Australian will be fit for tomorrow night’s Europa League match against Odense in south west London. “He’s [Schwarzer] got a problem in his spine but a specialist is coming to see his this afternoon [Tuesday] and we’ll make a decision,” said Jol. “I think he’s got a great chance of playing.” England international Stockdale is on a season-long loan at Ipswich, but Fulham hold a 24-hour recall clause. Should that clause be enacted, then Stockdale would not be able to return to Portman Road. www.greenun24.co.uk/ipswich-town/stockdale_fears_quelled_by_schwarzer_injury_news_1_1152983
