Apart from the pitch, are they renovating the actual stadium?! It's no secret that this dump we call our national stadium needs major renovations at the very least! I read at the fb page of the contractor, E-sports international inc that they are only commissioned to install the pitch. No renovations on plan for bleachers and grandstand. RMS still goin to be the BRP Sierra Madre of stadiums in the near future.

^we can add seats by dismantling the track and/or add another tier. Or maybe we can add a roof and fix the exterior. The problem is, there's no more space for parking and expansion.

There was hardly any parking to begin with anyways. But that part of Manila is a walkable area. Rizal Memorial Stadium, unless sold to a private investor, will most likely be undergoing renovations in baby steps at best. I'd like the big screen and the 12:35 clock fixed or upgraded next. Or removed entirely. To me, it looks like the government is focusing its net post-corruption financial efforts on that planned sports complex in Clark (was it Clark?). Hence the recent news of considerations in selling RMS. If they do sell it, I assume that it would probably be to someone who would build a commercial or residential complex so there would be no competition with the new Sports Complex and not to someone who would upgrade the stadium. If there's any hope for RMS, we fans would have to strengthen it by showing that the stadium is a real moneymaker. One that could satisfy the hunger of those deep, corrupt pockets. But with little to no non-online marketing for NT matches, I don't see RMS being filled by fans for those games.

the lighting should be fixed..the match got suspended because of faulty lighting in a match against cambodia which we won by 8-0.

Yeah, the lighting should be the next major upgrade. Get some new, tall lighting towers and get rid of that row of lights on the grandstand roof. And please, someone do something about that clock and the big screen. Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to seeing our national team playing on that pitch.

I know Bob Guerrero has harped on about that a few times if I'm not mistaken! lol! That is so old school! No modern stadium uses separate towers just for lights! That in itself is also an extra expense, a completely unnecessary one!

Because I'm pretty sure floodlights are still widely used today and is mandatory in most leagues in Europe.
