Filipino International in Torhout KMMonday, September 5, 2011 at 4:29 p.m. Torhout - Torhout KM lost last weekend 8-1 with heavy numbers of SV Oudenaarde, but there was also good news for the third grader. KM Torhout now has an international Filipino Jeffrey Christiaens, a 20-year-old striker who came on in the off season of the promises of Club Brugge, does the Philippine nationality. And he may soon be the national colors of defending the Philippines. In late September he plays in China with the Long Teng U23 Cup. In November, Jeffrey works with the national team off the Southeast Asian Games. Google translation. Thanks to CARABAO for the info: kw.rnews.be/nl/regio/wvl/filipijn....95096996262.htm

He looks like the natural successor to Chieffy.

I heard of rumours that Christiaens will be signing up (or has signed) for Global FC when his contract with Torhout ends (or has ended). Can anyone confirm?

The best person to ask is probably carabao, he is a member from Belgium. Or, Dan Palami via twitter. Bad move for him, he's a darn starter for that team(Torhout).

I think InterAKSYON has reported it: www.interaksyon.com/interaktv/united-football-league-preview-five-biggest-stories-of-the-ufl-cup"They’ve got quite a lot of talent in their lineup with Misagh Bahadoran, the tireless (and underrated) Jerry Barbaso, rock solid defender David Basa, new Azkals Jeffrey Christiaens[/b] and William Gueridonn, and Filipino-Spanish striker Angel Guirado, who will be making his debut in local club football. And they have dangerous scorers in Ayi Aryee and the Sudanese El-Habbib brothers, Badrelin and Izo."
I think that his contract with Torhout KM is still ongoing, but I presume it will expire come the January transfer window for Euro clubs. I think he might play during the UFL league proper.

Unless it's Cedelf Tupas or Rick Olivares reporting it, you have to see it before believing it when it comes to local news IMO.

The article is written by Rick Olivares. So I'm thinking that Christiaens is moving to the PI sometime.
...Unless it will be announced that he will renew his contract with Torhout during the transfer window. Would this mean a "loan" to Global FC then?
