Injury irritates Cagara (Google Translated)Dennis Cagara is annoyed that he had withdrawn from the match against FC Midtjylland with an injury, but the feedback focuses on rapidly to be back. The shift to Lyngby has meant plenty of playing time for the feedback Dennis Cagara, but yesterday he had withdrawn prematurely from the showdown against FC Midtjylland. An injury meant that he was already in the middle of the first half had to hobble off the bench. - There is a strain in the thigh. I noticed it early, and made immediately aware that I was going out to catch damage early. But it took some minutes before I came out, and it has clearly done the damage a bit worse, says Dennis Cagara to bold.dk. - I feel however that it goes fairly well today. I'm on my way to an alternative therapist, I have used for five years. He has done miracles before and I bet that I can be ready by the weekend. The injury came at a bad time for Cagara that gradually came up in the pace of the royal blue jersey. - It annoys me that the damage came because I really feel that I had a good run yesterday and I had lots of energy. That this is so very unfortunate, but there is nothing to do about it, says Cagara. Besides Cagara was also Frederik Krabbe and Bajram Fetai injured in Sunday's match. Theres an MLS Chivas team and a Mexican league Chivas team and they are related. It was probably the MLS one. if you're referring to which team beat barcelona, it was cd guadalajara, not chivas usa. chivas usa has never played barcelona and they would certainly never beat them in a game. cd guadalajara (chivas from mexico) is the team that beat barcelona.

Resilient Cagara boosts AzkalsBy Cedelf P. Tupas Philippine Daily Inquirer 10:15 pm | Sunday, October 9th, 2011 MANILA—Dennis Cagara is as resilient as they come. Injuries may have left the Fil-Danish on the freezer for most of the past four years. Finally at 100 percent, he’s hoping to return to his old, brilliant form and help take the Philippine Azkals to greater heights. “I’m not as quick as I used to be,” said the 26-year-old Cagara, who once completed a 30-meter sprint in 3.2 seconds during a drill before the injury bug hit him. “But I have a lot of experience. I’m willing to take responsibility and be a positive influence in the team.” Cagara’s career has gone up-and-down after a spate of injuries forced him to miss two years of action. But instead of sulking and quitting the sport altogether, the leftback who made his German Bundesliga debut as a 19-year-old against powerhouse Bayern Munich, soldiered on, hoping to make up for lost time. It’s the kind of no-nonsense mentality he hopes will further boost the Azkals’ improvement. “It’s been difficult these past few years,” said Cagara, who has hopped on from one club to another in Denmark after an impressive stint with Hertha, which he helped stave off relegation from the Bundesliga, in 2004. “I still believe I think that I can go to the level where I want to go,” added Cagara, whose father hails from Dulag, Leyte. Cagara’s addition not only gives the Azkals a solid cover at the problematic leftback role but also more attacking juice. A player with a penchant to go on overlapping runs, Cagara gives the Azkals another threat on the left aside from Chieffy Caligdong. Cagara said the Azkals can only get better in the years to come with a solid core. Fellow Fil-Danish player Jerry Lucena agrees. “I saw a lot of development in the team,” said Lucena who missed the World Cup Qualifers because of club commitments. “It’s only going to get better.” “We believe in the team that’s why we are here,” said Cagara. sports.inquirer.net/19499/resilient-cagara-boosts-azkals

Which game? If you are referring to the Nepal game, Dennis played an excellent game, providing assists, playing excellent defence, creating havoc on the left side and terrorizing the Nepalese defence and I still think he still has a lot more to offer in future games.
As for the M of the M award, most pundits have already cited P Younghusband for this game and I have to agree. I am not saying that Phil is the better player but as the coach of the Nepalese team pointed out, he was fantastic and unstoppable in that game and primarily responsible for dominating the Nepalese. He would have been right too as he scored 2 goals and provided the final assist that led to Matt Hartmann's goal.
Unfortunately as we all know with better teams that can match his speed and size, Phil can disappear and become ineffective sometimes. I believe Dennis with his talent and experience can outshine Phil Y, in those cirumstances. But in the Nepal match, Phil Y was the man.

Cj, Dennis was making mincemeat of the Nepalese out there. Sure PYH scored the goals, but Dennis was great. But hey, PYH was the one who got the invite to join the press conference, so what am i to say...

From Lyngby-Boldklub: lyngby-boldklub.dk/Nyheder/A-Truppen/Dennis_Cagara_str%E5lede_i_afklapsning_af_Nepal/via google translate: Dennis Cagara shone in smacking of Nepal Written by Kristian Maimann, Wednesday 12th October 2011 Dennis Cagara was Hopla and delivered a single assistant, since the Philippines won safely with 4-0 at home in the friendly match against Nepal. While Denmark tonight went into EM ecstatic after the victory over Portugal, was Lyngby's left-back Dennis Cagara among the protagonists in the Philippines' friendly against miniput-nation of Nepal, which despite its modest size actually holds a position 31 spots in front of just the Philippines. Back in Manila, it was nevertheless the islanders, who was strongest. Two scores of Phil Younghusband, who has a past as a hireling in Esbjerg and reserve player at Chelsea, laid the base for the victory. Dennis Cagara started the match on the pitch and had several situations a crucial foot in the game. 10 minutes into the second half kicked Lyngby-back corner and the post ended up with Phil Younghusband, who got the ball under control and kicked the Philippines ahead. Shortly after, AGF-player Jerry Lucena also changed for the home team and thus was Cagara one to represent the Super League. And he did fine. For shortly after Lucena replacement was Cagara namely again behind a score. Left-back strokes through the Philippine left side and sent the ball back across goal where Phil Younghusband put it right for British-born Matthew Hartmann, which closed and turned off the scoring to 4-0. This gave the Philippines a noble satisfaction on top of last week's 0-2-defeat in Singapore. Cagara can with a fine match and two matches in his luggage now to head west and begin preparations with the rest of Lyngby-squad that Sunday meetings Silkeborg.

Azkals’ Cagara gets coach's nod By JONAS TERRADO October 13, 2011, 10:04pm MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines’ German coach Michael Weiss had nothing but good words to say about the performance of Dennis Cagara after appearing in two international friendly matches recently. ”I'm happy that he could perform at this level like he did (on Tuesday),” Weiss said after the Azkals blasted visiting Nepal, 4-0, in Tuesday's friendly at the Rizal Memorial Stadium. The 26-year-old Cagara, born to a Filipino father and a Danish mother, gave Filipino fans a glimpse of what he can contribute with some solid passes particularly from the left wing. But the most notable pass came in the 55th minutes when he received the ball off a botched shot from a corner kick before feeding a one-bouncer to Phil Younghusband who scored his second goal of the match. ”He had some several Achilles injuries in the past and it took some to get him over here but I'm very happy not with the way he plays but he can also get into good shape now,” said Weiss. Cagara, who plays club football for Lyngby Boldklub in the Danish Superliga, debuted in Friday's 2-0 loss to Singapore in a friendly match at the latter's home field. He had stints in various youth teams of Denmark and notably played for German club Hertha BSC in the Bundesliga from 2004-08 but suffered an Achilles tendon in the 2006 while on loan with Dynamo Dresden. www.mb.com.ph/articles/337652/azkals-cagara-gets-coachs-nod

Eric Dimzon did a short interview with Cagara. [via theAzkaleros FB] One on one with the new Azkal: Dennis Cagara October 14, 2011
by banderablogs SI Dennis Cagara ang pinakabagong manlalaro ng Philippine Azkals men’s football team.
How were you discovered by Filipino football officials? Actually, the Philippine football officials contacted me way back in 2004. That was the time I played in Bundesliga in Germany. I got a letter from them. Later on, my father talked to the PFF officials when he was in the Philippines. Back then, I was a young player in the Danish league.
Unfortunately, I suffered a serious injury. After recovering from my injury, Paul Weiler contacted me again and asked whether I like to play for the Azkals. And I went to Frankfurt to talk to Mr. Dan Palami. I met and spoke with (Azkals) coach Weiss as well.
How Filipino are you? [me: Minus points for the way this question is phrased. For a so called journalist its insensitive. Seems like he's trying to open doors to spin something.] I am half-Filipino. I grew up in Denmark. Unfortunately, I don’t speak Tagalog. But I am really interested to know the language. I’m organizing something here in Denmark so I can take private lessons in Tagalog. Now is the best time to learn the language. It will be an honor to learn Tagalog now that I am representing the Philippines.
What do you expect from the Azkals and what can the Azkals expect from you? Everything is new to me. I hope that the team accepts me wholeheartedly. For me, it is important that the team works as a unit. I expect the team to allow me to help it become bigger and better. And in time, I expect the Philippine team to become a force to reckon with in the Asian football scene.
Although I am only 26 years old, I bring in a lot of experience. I know that fans expect a lot from the team. I hope I don’t disappoint them.
What position do you play? I play left defender. That’s the position I have been playing for so many, many years. I really feel it is my spot. The position is just behind Chieffy Caligdong. But I can also play central defender. But I prefer to play in the left back. And of course, to attack as often as possible and score goals.
Do you see the Philippines becoming a truly football nation? Yea, football is booming in the Philippines. But it will take time for it to become a national sport the way it is in Denmark. In the Philippines, basketball is still considered the national sport. But if things go as planned, football could be a very big sport. Mr. Dan Palami is doing a good job of bringing in good Filipino-European players to help the sport become popular.
Mr. Palami and the Azkals need support from investors, sponsors, the government and fans to make football really big. People must move in one direction to make football big.
A lot of the Azkals have done commercials and endorsements. Will you be interested to do some as well should offers come your way? I think it could be very interesting to have all the doors open. If someone in the Philippines thinks I can be helpful in a commercial, why not? My family in the Philippines thinks I should give it a try. I’m a very open person. I’m actually a funny guy. I like to make people laugh. I treat people with respect. I want to make people happy and glad. I would love to do commercials if there are offers.
What do you want to tell the Azkals fans? I just want to say that I am happy that a lot of fans are supporting the team. And I hope that they continue to support the team. We really have to support each other.
The Azkals have improved a lot in the past year to keep the fans happy. Hopefully, we can bring in more favorable results. I’m just looking forward to showing the fans what I can do for the team. I hope I get a warm welcome from the fans when I arrive in the Philippines. I promise to do my best for the country. banderablogs.wordpress.com/2011/10/14/one-on-one-with-the-new-azkal-dennis-cagara/
