Sorry Im a R Gier fan: He started his teams last game (on the 19th for the FA Cup) playing on all 90 min of the game even going for a goal shot!! They lost 2-1 MATCH REPORT: In front of the cameras and the largest ever crowd at the racecourse ground all the early chances fell to the visitors. It wasn't until the 30 minute that the Yellamen had their best effort a Phil Cousins shot that few over the bar. Tim Standing had a decent chance but shot wide, then just before the break Wembley hit a post and keeper Tim Kildpatrick did well to smother the follow up shot. On 55 minutes Wembley took the lead after the ball was not cleared and then Simon Knight came on for Nick Curtis with Dave Hancock reverting to centre half. A good Rob Gier shot again could not find the target and soon after Matt Humphreys replaced Shane Cooper-Clark. Then on 84 minutes the Wembley keeper brought down Jon Bennett and he converted the penalty to much crowd celebration. Ascot came close to going ahead when Bennett's run and cross from the left was almost turned in by Humphreys. But with minutes left Wembley broke and their no 6 scored to seal the victory. Manager Jeff Lamb substituted Tim Standing for Liam Woozley but Ascot could not muster another equaliser. Team Kildpatrick Gier Wilson N Curtis (Knight) Boddy Hancock Standing (Woozley) Cousins Boon Cooper-Clark (Humphreys) Bennett www.ascotunited.co.uk/fixDetail.asp?sec=1&age=4&team=72&seas=2011&fixID=15999

looks like Rob Gier played at RB... FM 11 also posted his best position at RB... so he was converted into a CB in the Azkals line-up...

In all seriousness he really isnt that fast anymore(if at all) but with his large amount of experience in the English system, skill, adequate height and knowledge of the game(veteran saavy) , it really seems to me that it was a great move in the part of the Azkal coaches to place him there. Also, Del Rosario is faster and adequate in the RB position in my observation. Although Sabio has started and subbed in the CB before(and is quite quick for that matter), I dont think RG is gonna be replaced any time soon. Unless someone new comes along

MATCH REPORT:
August 23 2011 Ascot United 0-1 Flackwell Heath
In an early report RG's Yellamen(Ascot United) lost in a league game against the Heathens. They are now 1-1-1 in league play.
UPDATE: The score was 0-0 later in the second half until an FH player was given his 2nd yellow card. Unfortunate for Ascot U, FH stepped up their defense and a few minutes from the end scored a goal, winning the match 1-nil! No player report has been released.

MATCH REPORT:
August 27 2011 Ascot United 1-5 Wantage Town
Last years Hellenic Premier League champions beat the crap out of Rob G's Ascot United. The game was never close. Ascot United is now 1-2-1 in league play. Rob Gier started and played thru the entire game.

MATCH REPORT:
Aug 29 20011 Ascot United 0-3 Binfield
Its been a hectic 7 days for Ascot U! Despite playing a 4-5-1 formation, they were victimized within 24 minutes with 3 goals by Binfield and were never able to recover. They are now 1-3-1 in league play. Once again the Azkal defensive veteran started and played the whole 90. The Hellenic premier league team will have a 9 day rest before coming back and playing the Oxford City Nomads.

Off the pitch Rob is still contributing IMMENSELY to the Azkals. I heard he's now the primary facilitator for foreign based players when it comes to travel arrangements, visas, etc. He's been there before, he knows the ropes, and with his attention to detail, things will be a lot smoother for the newer guys.
Congrats, Rob!

there are lot of players fighting for this position. can Del Rosario play against Nepal? if not then Jerry Lucena will play in RB and Gier in CB. Carli will be at sub. but all depends on Coach Weiss. how about Cagara and Jonsson?
