^^^ that's a curious point indeed.
I'm disturbed by comments people are making anyway, a ton of them are bordering on stupid when it comes to dismissing the whole issue. Comments like "maganda ba yan para magreklamo?", or "dapat lang hinde magreklamo kung papasok sa locker!". Stupid really. Sure going to the AFC instead of the PFF first seems like overkill, but it did happen on an international friendly date, a FIFA event nonetheless.
I'm not picking a side on this issue, but I hope any action the AFC or PFF would be quick and serious, just like how the English FA tackles Racism, what with that case against Suarez.
Its easy to say "ganyan naman lagi eh", but its no excuse, whether its trash talking, racism, or off-field issues like this one.

distance7I agree with you and azkalvolcanogilas. While we have to wait and hear from the 2 players involved, this incident should be treated seriously and not dismissed out of hand e.g., the players were just joking, cultural differences, etc.

e bakit ang queen ng Spain hindi naman niya feel na sexual harassment? You have to respect that every woman is different, their own limits before they feel that they've been harassed. And of course, that event with the Spanish Queen visiting the Spanish team's locker room has a different context from this one. Its wrong to generalize every event based on one past event alone. This and that are totally different situations.

Azkals member Moy ‘saddened’ by sexual harassment complaint against him
Philippine national men’s football team midfielder Lexton Moy is “saddened” by the sexual harassment complaint filed against him and fellow Azkals member Angel Guirado by former Philippine Olympic Committee president Cristy Ramos.
“It deeply saddens me to hear about the very serious allegation. This sensitive situation will be addressed professionally and respectfully,” wrote Moy on his Twitter account from Kathmandu, Nepal, where the Azkals are slated to compete next week in the AFC Challenge Cup.
Ramos wrote a letter to the Asian Football Confederation last week alleging that Moy and Guirado harassed her during the Azkals’ friendly against Malaysia, for which she served as match commissioner.
“As I called the players individually so that we could check their accreditation cards and kits, Philippine player LEXTON MOY (no. 25) stood by my right side and said in a loud voice ‘Must be a B cup,’ to which the players laughed loudly. As I was the only female in the room, he was apparently referring to my bra size,” said Ramos in her letter.
“Additionally when I checked Philippine player ANGEL GUIRADO (no. 12) he stood in front of me purposely just wearing his briefs and made no attempts to wear shorts or cover his underwear. Again, the players loudly laughed while I was checking this player.”
Azkals team manager Dan Palami issued a statement apologizing to Ramos over the incident “for the distress this situation has caused her.” He also promised to sit down with the Azkals to conduct an investigation of the issue.

Commissioner Ramos wants a public apology from the 2 players. I believe once the players will get back she will get this. At that point, hopefully she will withdraw her complaint at FIFA and no players will be suspended. Her point is that the players need to learn to respect the FIFA match commissioner and I think after all this, they will have learned their lesson and be more attentive when she and other FIFA match commissioners will be around.
Basically there is already a trial going on in the court of public opinion including in this forum. We have heard the complaint lodged by the plaintiff but have not heard from those being accused. Maybe we should reserve our judgement until we have heard from both parties.
As team manager Dan Palami said, this might just be a case of misunderstanding, with the players discussing one thing and Commissioner Ramos thinking another. Nevertheless, she is right in expecting a certain sense of decorum as FIFA match commissioner when she is inspecting their credentials and hopefully the players learn something from this.

Here's the Philippine law on sexual harassment. Ironically it was signed by President Fidel Ramos in 1995: www.chanrobles.com/legal4antisexualharassmentact.htmAnyway, although the arguments are valid which in this matter, the "harassment" happened in a work situation, and the victim is violated of her right to protect her intimacy, there are some loopholes. Harassment, as understood by many legal courts around the world, only happens when the suspect has authority over the victim, in which in this case is not. The victim has authority over the suspect(s) (a match commissioner against players). The victim, on the other hand, must have given a "favour" in exchange of that act of violating her sexual rights, in this case did not happen. A more appropriate case for this incident would have been "indecent behaviour." But, in my non-legal expert opinion, still a weak case because Ms. Ramos is the one who entered the locker room where it is expected to see men without clothes. Many opinions are springing up, but I don't think Cristy will file a criminal case on this because as pointed out by many over the interwebs that the Philippine law is rather weak. What she is doing is filing a complaint in the AFC, which like all sports federations, has a much stronger code of ethics for sports.

Pia wants probe on sex complaint vs 2 Azkals ABS-CBNnews.com Posted at 03/05/2012 3:35 PM | Updated as of 03/05/2012 3:35 PM MANILA, Philippines – Sen. Pia Cayetano called on the country’s sports officials to conduct an independent probe on the sexual harassment case filed by former Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) President Cristy Ramos against two members of the Philippine Azkals. “I call for an immediate investigation of this incident so this can be put to rest, not only because this is a serious allegation made by Match Commissioner Cristy Ramos, who is a sports official, but also because the Azkals are looked up to by the youth as modern-day heroes and role models,” Cayetano said in a statement Monday. She also expressed her support for Ramos, who was serving as a match commissioner for the Azkals’ friendly against Malaysia last February 29 when the sexual harassment incident allegedly occurred. “Sexual harassment must not be tolerated anytime, anywhere. Such acts should not go unpunished,” Cayetano said in a statement Monday. Last Friday, Ramos filed a sexual harassment complaint with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Disciplinary Committee against Azkals players Lexton Moy and Angel Guirado. "As I called the players individually so that we could check their accreditation cards and kits, Philippine player LEXTON MOY (no. 25) stood by my right side and said in a loud voice “Must be a B cup,” to which the players laughed loudly. As I was the only female in the room, he was apparently referring to my bra size,” said Ramos in the letter addressed to AFC Disciplinary Chair Lim Kia Tong. “Additionally when I checked Philippine player ANGEL GUIRADO (no. 12) he stood in front of me purposely just wearing his briefs and made no attempts to wear shorts or cover his underwear. Again, the players loudly laughed while I was checking this player,” she added. Ramos said the incident happened before the friendly between the Philippine Azkals and the Malaysia Tigers, which eventually ended in a 1-1 draw. “While only two Azkals were charged in the complaint, I am bothered by the revelation made in Ramos’ account their teammates were even laughing as the two accused made fun of her,” Cayetano said. She noted that none of the other Azkals “made any effort to stop their offending acts and remarks.” “If I were in the shoes of Cristy Ramos, I would likewise feel extremely offended, like any woman would be,” Cayetano added. Azkals team manager Dan Palami has apologized to Ramos. He said they will “look into the circumstances of this alleged incident,” and promised to cooperate with any investigation. But Palami also said that the players may have only been engaging in “boisterous bantering” to shake off nerves before the game. “For someone who walks into this situation, this might appear as bordering on disrespect. But again, I am speaking only from my personal experience,” he added Philippine Football Federation President Mariano “Nonong” Araneta has promised that the PFF will respect whatever decision the AFC Disciplinary Committee issues. The Philippine Azkals are currently in Nepal, where they are preparing to play in the 2012 AFC Challenge Cup. – With reports from Dennis Gasgonia, ABS-CBNNews.com and Dyan Castillejo, ABS-CBN News. www.abs-cbnnews.com/sports/03/05/12/pia-wants-probe-sex-complaint-vs-2-azkals

FVR daughter Cristy describes in detail 'harassment' from AzkalsRENEE FOPALAN March 5, 2012 5:47pm In an interview with GMA News' Arnold Clavio on Monday, former Philippine Olympic Committee president Cristina Ramos, daughter of former President Fidel V. Ramos, narrated her experience with Azkals, which served as the basis of her sexual harassment complaint to the Asian Football Confederation. The incident happened before the Azkals' friendly against Malaysia last February 29 inside the Azkals' locker room at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium in Manila. In an interview with GMA News' Arnold Clavio, Ramos explained her purpose as Match Commissioner. "Ang match commissioner kasi, kailangang pumasok sa changing room, iche-check yung mga accreditation ng mga player. Itong team check, is a formal procedure. It’s a serious procedure. Nung nandoon ako sa loob, nagtatawanan ang mga player. Yung sinabi ni Ginoong [Lexton] Moy, wala namang kinalaman sa ginagawa namin sa loob. Walang relevance. It was an irreverent and irrelevant statement [sic]." Ramos continued to narrate what happened inside the locker room. "Nung pagkapasok palang namin, maingyay. Nagtatawanan pa. Walang disiplina, walang respeto. Nung nag-uumpisa na ang team check, nung tinatawag ko na yung mga player, tumabi si Lexton Moy sa kanan ko. Hindi ko naman siya pinapansin dahil di ko pa siya tinatawag. Ang talagang binibigyan ko ng pansin yung nasa harapan kong player, yung tinawag ko. Tumabi sakin sa kanan tapos biglang sinabi na malakas, must be a B cup. Nagtawanan yung mga player," said Ramos. The incident was followed by another encounter, this time with Fil-Spanish mid-fielder Angel Guirado. "Si Mr. Guirado naman, pag check ko, naka underwear lang, naka brief. Tinitignan ko yung ID nya. Medyo matangkad siya. Ako naman, maliit ako. Ang tingin ko naman pag nagchecheck ka ng ID, pababa ang tingin mo. Hindi ka naman titingin ng pataas. Mapapansin mo din kung ano sinuot niya. Hindi lang yon, nagtatawanan. May malice [sic]," Ramos added. In the same interview, Philippine Football Federation (PFF) Secretary General Atty. Roland Tulay explained that the complaint is already with the PFF Disciplinary Committee. He added that if proven guilty, the sanctions range from suspension to total ban. "We take complaints like this very, very seriously. The football community takes serious note of complaints especially about racism and of course offenses against women," added Tulay. Azkals Team Manager Dan Palami has already issued a formal statement Friday, and has since spoken to Ramos about the incident. "Nagusap kami ni Mr. Palami sa PFF office. Sinabi niya nga na nagpapaumanhin siya on behalf of the players and the team. Tinanggap ko [in] principal ngunit sinaad ko na it doesn't vindicate the players or it doesn't absolve them from the crime," Ramos stressed. — AD/RSJ, GMA News www.gmanetwork.com/news/story/250385/sports/football/fvr-daughter-cristy-describes-in-detail-harassment-from-azkals

Moy, girlfriend, and fans react to harassment chargeAzkal Lexton Moy broke his silence about former POC President Cristina Ramos' sexual harassment charge through Twitter Saturday. "It deeply saddens me to hear about the very serious allegation. This sensitive situation will be addressed professionally and respectfully."Moy's girlfriend, Cooper Browning, was also quick to defend the Azkal. "I am shocked and appalled by the news... In the 6 yrs I have been w @lextonmoy he would never make such a comment."Filipino football fans' reactions to the allegations widely varied. Please don't jump to conclusions. I believe that @lextonmoy is innocent. A classic case of misunderstanding for sure. This is another harsh lesson for the once-ignored Azkals. They're now representatives of every Filipino in the world and ambassadors of every cherished Filipino value. They're role models and inspirations. And yes, there are people trying to bring football down, so they can't even make one misstep on or off the pitch. I hope this can be resolved soon (though i doubt it now that personalities in politics are involved) and we can move on to developing football.

Quick questions about this "incident":
1. What did Cristy Ramos do or say immediately after that comment from Moy?
2. What did Cristy Ramos do or say immediately after that "exhibition" from Guirado?
3. Did she call the attention of the Team Captain immediately after those two incidents, and if she did, what was the reaction, if any?
4. What were the reactions, if any, of the two other officials with her at the time of the incident? Deadma lang ba?
Kulang yung kwento eh. Hindi normal yung wala lang reaction while inside the locker room tapos naisipan na lang mag-complain afterwards. Kung ako yung girl I would have confronted the two right then and there, then immediately call the team captain, team manager and coach, and tell them what happened. I also would like to hear the side of the two "offenders", maybe this is just all a big misunderstanding since those two weren't raised here, it could just be some cultural differences.
