Thanks for the starting the thread, but this is too early to tell. But anyway... answering some queries:
Yes, the Philippines would want to host the qualifiers next year and the finals if ever we qualify for the final stage. The past editions of this tourney were held in South Asia (Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal). It's unlikely that the central Asian nations (Turkmenistan, Tajikistan) would want to host them, so it's better for the AFC to focus on South East and East Asia.
I still expect North Korea to join in the qualification in 2013 & the 2014 finals to defend their Challenge Cup trophy. If they get disqualified or chose not to participate, the Challenge Cup trophy will be defaulted and no title defense will happen. It will be everyone's ball game now.
Turkmenistan is a force to reckon with. We can beat them with a skilled goalkeeper, solid defense and midfield, plus a good matchup up front
Brunei was recently lifted from suspension, so they would want to try things again to recover. I don't think they would want to participate again. Timor Leste did a lot of adjustment in the past. I hope they get good talents. Guam's uncertain in attending long through passes.

timor leste is trying to buy some guys from south america naturalizing them.im certain if they continue doing this process in the future they are gonna be 1 country to be watch out.turkmenistan is beatable if our 3 key players are playing that day for sure we would win and entered the finals agains DPRK.hopefully we could recruit more talented players for this tournament its still a gonna be 2 more years, but im certain that if our current status in football progresses.i wouldnt be surprise that more players from all around the globe would consider joining our NT.

If PRK will still enter the next Challenge Cup: What if they win again? Since I think they will defend their crown, who will be the next qualified team for AFC Challenge Cup? For example PHI vs PRK. PRK won but since they already qualified for Asian Cup. Will it be the 2nd placer that will be the next qualified team? I understand PRK might enter the next Challenge Cup to defend the crown. Pero dapat hindi na sila sumasali dito eh since they are now a developed status in football. Sana straight na sila sa AFC Asian Cup Qualification hehe For TKM it's beatable as long as our quality players were there

But speaking of that line you said earlier, Uzbekistan is next to Korea DPR in the developed category to be eligible for the Challenge Cup. If they make it into the final draw, that would be interesting enough. But if Korea DPR gets again to the finals and wins it, the qualification to the 2015 Asian Cup goes to the second placer. That's how the rules will go next edition. TKM could still make it and top the qualification phase next year, so I expect a very tough draw.

I think NKR will still join these because of their ranking they don't play that much friendlies so they the CC to rack up points and hope their rankings rise up. Plus their defending champions!

Only AFC Challenge Cup will make us to participate in the 2015 AFC Asian Cup Look at this post by football-rankings 2015 Asian Cup preliminary draw in OctoberAccording to AFC, "The members were informed that 20 teams, who have confirmed their entries for the qualifiers, would be drawn into five groups of four teams each. The top two teams from each group and one third best-placed team from among all the groups would qualify for the Finals." According to QFA, "On the margin of the AFC executive committee meetings, it was confirmed that the qualification stage draw for the 2015 Asian Cup - Australia will be held on October." AFC had reserved two match days in September 2012 for a possible preliminary round (1 and 5 Sep), but they won't be used. These are the match days (2013 and 2014): MD 1: 6 February 2013 MD 2: 22 March 2013 MD 3: 15 October 2013 MD 4: 15 November 2013 MD 5: 19 November 2013 MD 6: 5 March 2014 Alternative match dates: 11 January 2014, 18 January 2014 and 25 January 2014. Why are they needed? Because MD 3 and 5 collide with the AFC-CONMEBOL World Cup play-off. Now, about participation. This is the list I've received from AFC (yes, they've finally replied to my e-mails!): Uzbekistan, Qatar, Jordan, Iran, Iraq, China, Bahrain, Syria, UAE, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Thailand, Yemen, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Lebanon and Hong Kong. Based on the 2011 Asian Cup performance ranking, the bottom 23 will participate in the AFC Challenge Cup, while the top 23 will be involved in the main qualifiers. Obviously, the top 3 (Japan, Australia and Korea Republic) have direct entry and that leaves 20 teams to participate in the qualifiers. Korea DPR are a special case. Although they are in the top 23, the AFC Executive Committee has allowed them to play in the AFC Challenge Cup because of difficulties in hosting home-and-away games in Korea DPR. If the North Koreans would have confirmed their participation in the main qualifiers, there would have been a preliminary round involving Lebanon and Hong Kong. Now, there's only one problem. Based on 2011 Asian Cup performance, India are 16th. Why won't they participate in the main qualifiers? No answer from AFC (yet) regarding this. These will be the pots for the October draw: Pot 1: Uzbekistan, Qatar, Jordan, Iran, Iraq Pot 2: China PR, Bahrain, Syria, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait Pot 3: Saudi Arabia, Oman, Thailand, Yemen, Vietnam Pot 4: Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Lebanon and Hong Kong. Thailand should be below Yemen, but this doesn't affect the seeding. Group of death: Iran, China PR, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon. www.football-rankings.info/2012/03/2015-asian-cup-preliminary-draw-in.html- The reason why Korea DPR is allowed to enter AFC Challenge Cup is because of difficulties in home and away games. It's hard that a national team will play in Pyongyang because if PRK lose in their home. Fans will riot and chase the enemy team. Like what happened to Iran last 2006 qualifiers.
By the way this is the topic in an Indian forum posted by an Azkal fan on FB "nabasa ko yung isang forum sa India, english naman kaya ngets ko. At mukhang serious ang mga fans na manalo ang team nila, specially now na hindi nga sila part 20 na seeded sa Asian Cup. They also mention na mukhang tayo ang maghohost ng 2014 AFC challenge cup, with a special term FAVORITES-mantakin mo, favorites daw tayo?" Looks like they are hungry to win since they're not in seeded teams for AFC Asian Cup Qualification. And by the way there is a high chance that we're the host based from the forum.

so the top 23 will play for the right to play in the 2015 asian cup.. right now there are already 4 teams that qualified.. they are japan, south korea, australia and north korea..
they said that the top 23 teams in asian 2011 are qualified to join the qualifying now the question is how will the philippines, turkmenistan, palestine and the likes of them to play in the qualifying round? if in the first place they can't play in the previous afc cup?? so in the 2019 asian cup the only team from the below 23 can participate in the qualifying is the 2014 challenge cup champion??
now in this case look at the fifa rankings if for example the ranking of the philippines is higher than the top 23 teams in the previous edition it will be unfair to the philippines that they can't participate while the other can.
to be fair, they should the fifa to rank the top 23 teams in the beginning of the year of qualification in this case the 2012 will be the one to participate..as we all know rankings in fifa is based on accumulated matches of at least 3 or 4 years. if you rank higher than the others it means you are active in participating in the international tournaments as well as performing well.. i hope that they will revise the qualification..

A little bit old article but I hope PFF is now planning for this.
Philippines declare interest in hosting the 2014 Challenge CupMar 19, 2012 3:50:00 AM By Christian Rizzitelli After the Azkals' impressive run in the tournament currently held in Nepal, team manager Dan Palami reveals plans to host the 2014 edition of the prestigious competition The Philippines Football Federation (PFF) is interested in hosting the next edition of the AFC Challenge Cup, according to the team manager Dan Palami. Palami revealed he will make the proposal after the Azkals' outstanding 2012 Challenge Cup campaign, where they reached the semifinals for the first time in history. “I will make a recommendation to PFF president Mariano 'Nonong' Araneta that we host the qualifiers for the tournament and the finals as well,” he told the-afc.com. “It would be good for us to be a host of this important tournament. I think that's the next step for us.” Palami is confident infrastructures in the Philippines will be ready to host such a tournament in two years. “I think we should do that. By that time, we will have the facilities to have the two groups for the finals,” he added. “I saw the pitches we have trained in and we've played in and we should be okay. One group can be in Panaad in Bacolod City. Hosting will definitely be a huge boost for Philippine football.” Palami concluded by saying that the home crowd could eventually be a big aid for the Azkals, in order to further improve their performance in the competition. “You're in the same situation as everybody else but the home crowd is a very big factor”, he said. www.goal.com/en/news/3618/afc-challenge-cup-2012/2012/03/19/2976629/philippines-declare-interest-in-hosting-the-2014-challenge
At this time, RMS and Panaad is now expanded. New Era Football Stadium is nearing completion. Also good for tourism

Azkals set sights on 2014 Challenge Cup titleABS-CBNnews.com Posted at 05/01/2012 7:57 PM | Updated as of 05/01/2012 11:37 PM Weiss wants Asia Cup qualification
MANILA, Philippines – It’s still two years away, but Philippine Azkals coach Hans Michael Weiss is already mapping out plans for his team’s campaign in the 2014 Challenge Cup. Weiss steered the Azkals to an unprecedented third-place finish in this year’s Cup. He wants to push the envelope further by shooting for the Challenge Cup title in 2014. “Our big target is winning the AFC Challenge Cup in 2014, because then we'd qualify for the AFC Asia Cup in Australia the following year,” Weiss said in FIFA.com. The German coach believes it can be achieved as they still have two years to prepare. “That's realistic, and it would mean we'd be exactly where we want to be," said Weiss. The Azkals started out as underdogs during this year’s edition of the Cup. After losing to the mighty North Koreans, the Azkals scored a pair of shocking wins over former Cup titlists India and Tajikistan. They yielded to Turkmenistan in the semis round but still clinched third place by beating Palestine. It was the Philippines' best-ever finish in the tournament. “Winning bronze was the greatest success in the history of the association," Weiss said. “Before the tournament, no one really took us that seriously, but now we sense plenty of respect.” www.abs-cbnnews.com/sports/05/01/12/azkals-set-sights-2014-challenge-cup-title
