When is transfer dealine ? I know a fil-Italian who want to play in Philippines... Jonny, I do not know(maybe the other guys do) but from talking with some of the clubs concerning Antonio, Wilbert, Dario & Malven, the whole of August is still open. If your player is in the Philippines now, there are a few tryouts I might point him too or (maybe) he can piggyback with Wilbert & Dario during their tryout. PM if you have any other questions. Good luck to your guy Jonny!

Booters’ move to UFL squads benefits Azkals By Cedelf P. Tupas Philippine Daily Inquirer 10:47 pm | Thursday, August 16th, 2012 Share on facebook_likeShare Tweet CHICAGO—The decision of several national team players based in Europe and the United States to sign up for United Football League clubs in Manila will augur well for the Azkals’ bid in future tournaments. Azkals coach Michael Weiss, who is supervising the national side’s two-week camp here, welcomed the move of Denis Wolf, Jeff Christiaens, Jason de Jong and OJ Porteria to play in the coming UFL season as it will allow them to train regularly with the national team. Wolf, a former German Bundesliga player who spent time in the fourth division in Germany last season, and former Belgian second division standout Christiaens have agreed to play for reigning champion Global FC, while Porteria, an Under-23 standout, has been acquired by Kaya. De Jong, who has experience playing in the Netherlands and Belgium and Indonesia, has signed with Penson Stallion Giligans for the coming season. Fil-British midfielder Chris Greatwich has also been linked with a move to Kaya, while new national team recruits Demetrius Omphroy and Matthew Uy have both expressed interest to join a UFL club for the coming season. Last year, Azkals standouts Angel Guirado and Carli De Murga were lured into leaving Spain in favor of the UFL, a move that proved crucial in the team’s preparations and eventual third place finish in the AFC Challenge Cup. “The moves indicate that the players want to be part of the team,†said Weiss. “It’s not like before, where we just take players who can walk straight. We are now really getting quality that we are looking for.†Weiss said the influx of Filipino players born and bred abroad will make the league stronger and increase the level of competitiveness. “To attract players to leave everything behind and see football as a career in the Philippines speaks a lot of the development,†said the German coach. The Azkals stayed unrelenting in training in Oak Brook, a suburb west of Chicago – even after its international friendly match against US Virgin Islands scheduled Friday in Indianapolis was cancelled. The USVI has reportedly blamed the Chicago-based promoter for its failure to fix the tickets of the players and the staff in and out of Chicago. Playing a “selection team†fielded by semi-pro side Chicago Inferno, the Azkals lost 1-3 in the first match of the camp. Weiss said scrimmages have been lined up for the Azkals before their departure from the Windy City on Aug. 19. “We don’t have to peak right now. We must peak when we reach the tournament,†said Weiss. sports.inquirer.net/58560/booters-move-to-ufl-squads-benefits-azkals

Suggestion: In most top class leagues in Europe, every team faces their opponent 2 times. One in home and one in away. But most leagues there composed many teams resulting to total of 34 to 38 matches. Since UFL has only 10 teams and faces each team 2 times, why not make every team face 3 times so more fun and more cohesion. So total games of every team increased from 18 to 27 games Since the next UFL season is more exciting as most foreign based Filipino players are willing to play here so this suggestion is one way of expanding UFL here

It pretty much provided enough competition to club leagues around the world, whether their clubs number as many as 30 or as few as 5. If you're demanding for additional games in the UFL, there's the planned Super Cup by May 2013. All Div 1 clubs and the top 6 of Div 2 will compete. Get it?

Get it? i think they should have a qualifying round for the div 2 for the super cup. since there are 12 teams why not have all 12 teams go thru a 2-game qualifying round... relegated team from div 1 vs 12th-placed team from div2 and so on. i think this is more acceptable because on div 2 the 6th-placed teamis not much better than the 7th-placed team. or to make it even better to have two groups of 6 and have the top 3 in each group join the div 1 teams. and for the UFL cup, they should have it like a tournament with all teams including guest teams try to qualify for the round of 16. i think this would give div2 teams more games during the two cups because most div 2 teams dont make it far into the tournament with the current UFL cup tournament set up. i think the minnows of div 2 only had three games total during the tournament period. i think with this idea, it would give them exposure to more matches, therefore they will be in form and not be on a 2-3 month hiatus prior to the upcoming season but i really think a super cup and UFL cup are somewhat similar, with the winners mostly gonna be top div1 teams. they should just start a div2 cup( kinda like the J Paint Trophy tournament) I think this would also give div 2 more exposure to games.
