SAVE NOMADS SPORTS CLUB!
The Nomads Sports Club is considered the most active and recognized sports club in the Philippines. Founded in 1914, it has been at the heart of development of sports in the Philippines for decades.
They are one of the leading sports club that helped revitalize football in the Philippines by showcasing it via playing at top-flight in the United Football League, the country's most-recognized football league.
It has also been a second home for many people, because it has honed them to be the best at what they do through its many sports programs not only in football, but also in rugby, cricket, and the others it provides.
Recently, the club is at threat of being closed down because its former president filed a complaint with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) seeking for the "involuntary dissolution" of Nomads with the reason of offering "unlisted securities," and land infighting. The complaint alleges: "The registration of Nomad Sports Club must be revoked for serious misrepresentation as to what the corporation can do to the great prejudice or damage to the general public”.
To us and to everybody else, this is unlawful, unfair, baseless, and downright for the purpose of greed and money.
The Nomads Sports Club has never done any harm to the general public; in fact, Nomads can only do good for the general public. This is the problem in the Philippines: lack of community space and facilities for the general public for sports development. The facilities and organisation are excellent and kids are encouraged to get involved with sports; they even give football clinics free of charge, and give disadvantaged children a chance to better their lives with sports and give them the happiest of times in their childhood.
Join Usapang Football in its petition to save the club from this uncertainty and let us show that Nomads deserves to stay and continue to cultivate sports in the country.
