i think the Guam coach is better than our coach.. that's the main point here.. the subs came late, and this is not the first time that i'm not please they way weiss coach our team..
but i like the short passing of the azkals. if they just play regularly they can play it very well.. angeles is such a talent. cagara is superb in the left wing so as carli but carli fades in the latter part of the game. angel despite his 2 goals he over dribble sometimes. i like the way james played. he is a box to box player. phil is superb on his tactics but not his day. gier is still reliable so as sabio but the back four is a bit slow and their defensive tactics sometimes predictable and they are slow. gonzales is such a workhorse, bahadoran seems want to score everytime he has the ball. de jong is still a reliable guy..
give the azkals a year or 2 with regular friendly matches and training camps they can play against the rest of asia..

Decent effort by Guam esp. defensively. Philippines could have scored more but 3 excellent chances in front of goal by Wolf went begging in the 2nd half. The Azkals definitely need another striker who can finish.
Average performance by the Azkals. They could have moved the ball better and finished their chances better esp. in the 2nd half where they were held scoreless. Disappointing result considering the caliber of the opposition.
I think Guam's coach prepared his team well. They played a very well organized game.
This game just reinforces my opinion that the Azkals could do better with a more experienced coach. They are basically underachieving under Coach Weiss.
My man of the match is Angel Guirado. Good performance from Cagara, Lucena, Carli and Angeles. Goat of the match Denis Wolf for missing 3 chances in front of goal. As Carli mentioned in the post game interview, we should have been up 6-0.

we played well in the first 15 minutes. poor finishing from wolf in front of goal. Terrible game from both James and Phil. Didn't see any improvements with our tactics. Not satisfied at all.

wolf is the pinoy heskey
team was disorganized, some players were out of position. they need to slow the tempo down a bit, building up from the midfield, not relying too much on long balls and individual skill.
we need a hodgson or a mancini imo.

this game showed that we need a new coach with an experience of handling a national team, not youth team

I think we definitely could have scored more, but I'm happy that we won 3-0. I felt we had good passing during portions of the game, and our midfield control is getting better. We need to have better finishing though. Phil and Denis Wolf had many chances to score, but couldn't finish. I think our team is getting better with every game though, and given more time together, we could be a force in the Suzuki Cup. Let's give Weiss a chance until then, at least. We should remember that he did steer us to our first-ever medal finish in the Challenge Cup.

Agree. Our midfield played good but we never really had the chance to control the game. We need to be more patient with the ball and let our opponent do some work. it will also give us time to rest during plays.
During this game, every time we have the possession. Our wingers especially JYH seems to rush things. He needs to learn when we should hold the ball and wait for a better opportunity. But instead, JYH tends to make long balls and force the situation. It's fine to do that from time to time but not every possession.
Overall, happy with the result but not satisfied with the way we approached the game.

Does anybody know why Reichelt was not used again? We will never know if he is good enough for the international level if he is not used in a game and this friendly against Guam would have been the perfect situation for this. For all we know, he might be a better finisher than Wolf.

A 3-0 scoreline is disappointing given the coach fielded the strongest lineup currently possible (obviously minus Mulders, Ott, Schrock). Maybe we were "too nice" to the visitors as well. It didn't help that many of the players acted like they were the designated striker.

We are underachieving under Coach Weiss. #FACT
On a lighter side, I dont know if its just me but prior to the start of the game when the football officials were introduced to the players. Dennis Cagara pointed out the people outside of the stadium to PFF Pres Araneta, maybe he's asking him to let the people come in for free and watch the game. Mr Araneta was like this --> lol. That's just how I interpret it.

in my honest opinion, i think the crowd yesterday were amazing. i heard them chanting always unlike the game against Indonesia. i hope Cagara and Ott are available on suzuki cup, they can really boost our team and Ott can dictate the tempo of the game. and i think Angel is good at LW

Hmm, i think the bleachers were sold out but in the first place, iniisip ko why is that wala halos tao on the left Bleachers side ( on the TV angle) but as the match progresses, it becomes full. so kudos to the crowd, even though i saw that the left side of the Grandstand na wala halos katao-tao. I think there's more people have been watched in Panaad than in Rizal Memorial Stadium(Just my thoughts).
Analysis of the Game. In the 20-30 Mins of the game, the Azkals controlled the possession. Height is Might on that occasion because we almost won 50-50 balls and Matao used Long Balls which i think is ineffective against Taller Teams. But as said in the previous posts, They have to improve on their finishing and also in Defense. Guam almost scored against us. In the 2nd Half, Guam had some chances and they slow down the game a bit and we have so many Chances (Wolf, Phil, Misagh) but just couldn't convert into a Goal. Parang Nanggigigil ang mga Azkal Players to score Goals. I think we could have won more convincingly last night, but 3-0 score is not bad. (I thought we were up 4-0 at the end only of the 1st half). My MOTM, Angel Guirado. Runners Up Dennis Cagara, Jerry Lucena and Marwin Angeles. Whatever an Azkal Win, I'm Happy. Way to go Philippine Azkals. More patience for our Football Team.
