Is the Malaysia friendly already confirmed? I hope this will give them skills needed for the Challenge Cup. Anyway If this will happen, are all of our players will be there? I hope our dream team play ...sans Aly Borromeo, that will be the problem. ah. Yes Aly has a problem I hope he has a speedy recovery. I'm sure he will be craving to play there hehe

The Azkals are considering Juan Luis Guirado, the brother of Angel, as a possible replacement for Aly Borromeo for next year's Challenge Cup. Full article is in his thread in the scouting forum. www.philstar.com/thedeanscorner/articlescontent.aspx?articleid=741393&publicationsubcategoryid=69Article also mentions that Angel has received offers to play in Japan probably at the J2 level, starting in December or January and Palami has given him leave to do so if he decides to take up the offer.

It could be JEF United Ichihara Chiba of J2 League. It's current technical director is Sugao Kambe who handled our national team in 2002. Mr. Kambe had mentioned that he has been monitoring the progress of the Azkals and is interested to signing Philippine players.

Angel should continue playing against top flight teams. I wonder if he can handle it? J2 should be a higher level compared to the Spanish Tercera div??

Yup, I'm convinced too that the competition in J2 League is better than Spanish Tercera Division. But let's keep in mind that Angel had significant stints with big clubs in Spain such as Córdoba CF plus the mere fact that he hasn't reached his peak yet as he's only 26 years old. So yes, I think he can handle J2 League.

If ever we need another striker or right mid with experience, Leigh Gunn's season in Australia starts March 21, after the AFC CC. Just saying...
Any news on JL Guirado, I know he received his PI passport, I hope he gets enough vacation time for the AFC CC.

Its a 50-50 win-loss, We beat Nepal in the Friendly match so its possible that we can win the Challenge cup... Nepal isn't the only threat in the Challenge Cup. Turkmenistan, North Korea and India are well experienced teams. Plus Nepal performs well at home.

Its a 50-50 win-loss, We beat Nepal in the Friendly match so its possible that we can win the Challenge cup... Nepal is the weakest team in the Challenge Cup field plus they will be playing at home in high altitude where they do a lot better than on the road so that win in a meaningless friendly, doesn't mean anything once the tournament starts.
