1-0 is a nice score....they could had just protected that...especially na 1 man down ang kuwait obviously after kuwait was down to 10 men... The azkals got more offensive minded and that cause them the game... but atleast we can say... we can play score against the big boys... lets not compare Kuwait with Vietnam because kuwait is way better...

Congrats to the Kuwaitis. Obviously, we lost to a much a better team. But I don't consider it a loss because for a time our team gave us hope of possibly winning against a formidable opponent. So thank you to our boys, I immensely enjoyed the game and I'm now looking forward to their next games. Dami pa nating bigas na kakainin ika nga. I have hope this is just the beginning of the Filipinos love affair with football. The passion is already there. I hope we keep that burning.

We lost against Kuwait, which I wasn't totally surprised honestly. But what we won is the support of many Filipinos or fans of Filipino sports to get us to the next level. The next Messi, Eto'o, Ronaldinho, or Sanchez is that little kid on the streets of Manila, Cabanatuan City, Cebu City, Valencia or wherever. If we can get a world class boxer, we can get a world class football player. It's going to happen. I will say that online streaming surely does suck especially with the ad pop ups and the idiots on the chatboard talking down on our favorite Pinoy Doggies. Grrrr.

After the game, I've never been so proud for being a Filipino. I guess it's just football. Nevertheless, we showed a lot of potential. I believe!

Good game for the Azkals! Schröck has proven that he will be the star player in the coming years for the Philippines. The TEAM did a great job I have to say, giving Kuwait a lot of trouble. The defence did a great job of stopping some of the attacks of Kuwait. I could clearly see that a player like Al Enezi has huge potential (the guy with the hairband), but the Azkals managed to stop some of his attacks! Huge + was the crowd that applauded after the game. That was a sign that the crowd saw how much work the Azkals had put in this game. I only hope that they can continue WITH Weiss. the man has been given a hard time lately, but I'm sure he can take this team to a higher level!

Good on everyone here! The atmosphere in Rizal was marvelous. The first goal brought tears to some eyes! Proud of our Azkals. I agree, becoming offensive-minded cost us the game. But for a moment, they justified the sentiment of everyone, "WE BELIEVE!" I'm proud, man. Hey, second round in our first real try! Not too shabby.

Good Game we had today! Kuwait was just superior in skills but its a good thing to know that our boys really improved in their game. a lot more tweaking with the back 4 i guess. Ray Jonsson was really doing his job impressively denying Al Enezi most of the times. I think Neil Etheridge is the Real deal! I just hope we have another GK that's up to par with Neil. and schrocky he's the man of the match!! hands down.. Next up! the SEA games a lot of promising U23 players to watch..

Bangladesh did beat lebanon in there 2nd leg 2-nil... as we all know we beat the same bangladesh side 3-nil... But lebanon won on agg. 4-2...

I mentioned it on FB before, during the first leg match, when we nearly scored off the 'offside' break-away by Phil YH, the quick counter by Kuwait allowed them to score. I said then, that I hope we learned a lesson. The counter attack is at its most dangerous when the attacking just missed. In today's case, Kuwait just got reduced to 10, and so, our mentality changed gears to 'ATTACK'. Not even a minute went by, BOOM, they scored. 2 times now, we got taught a lesson. Plus, our mental toughness is not there yet, as we cannot keep it up for the full 90. GOOD NEWS ... we are very competitive now (but we need Schrocky to be that competitive).

I'm not even mad or sad. I'm just thankful to see them work hard and compete. Schroeck really amazed during this game and he earned the respect of the Kuwaitis with his presence, distribution, tenacity, and of course that goal! He is my favorite player on the Azkals!
Guys, this team is something special and this lost is just another step to a buildup of something better! Remember the last lost at home? It was against Laos which was 2-1. From there, they continued to improve and blossomed at the Suzuki cup this past December. Tonight, we lost 2-1 to Kuwait and I see us continuing to improve and get the necessary wins we need to climb up the rankings! Come 2015 when the next World Cup Qualifiers begin, we will make noise in Asia!
