Congrats Kuwait! It was a blast watching the Azkals played with the big boys.
Dont you guys wished we drew Singapre instead of Kuwait. Singapore aggregate win against Malaysia 7-6. I think we will be more succesful with these guys.
Anyways, we will still see them in Suzuki Cup. We Believe!!

Great atmosphere at the stadium. Azkals made us proud today. It may be the end of the road for WC 2014 Qualifying, but this is definitely the start of a new era in Philippine football not only for the team and those playing football, but for us the supporters as well. It was heartening to see the crowd staying behind in the rain to acknowledge and cheer the team after the game during their lap of honor. The Kuwaitis won the match and the tie, but more importantly for me, the Azkals continue to win the hearts of its supporters and fans. Now off to the next challenge, GO AZKALS!!! WE BELIEVE!!!

1-0 is a nice score....they could had just protected that...especially na 1 man down ang kuwait obviously after kuwait was down to 10 men... The azkals got more offensive minded and that cause them the game... but atleast we can say... we can play score against the big boys... lets not compare Kuwait with Vietnam because kuwait is way better... Fail...Vietnam beat Kuwait already www.soccerway.com/matches/2009/05/31/world/friendly/kuwait/vietnam/777426/

It was an exciting game nonetheless! Congratulations to the team for all the accomplishments they've made in a span of less than a year. Many things to look forward to after the WCQ. Great that the team have a couple of tournaments ahead. Next, its time for the U23s to shine. My eyes are now set on the SEA games, Suzuki Cup & Challenge Cup!

i want to share you this message sent to me, from admiralroy
do i sound arrogant? i just smile at your message.. "what a prick" "ing class" seems to be your favorite words on this forum.. I feel sorry for you.. c'mon admiralroy havent you read some news? PFF plans to invite Asian countries like Malaysia, Hong Kong and China to play against the Azkals late this year or early next year. Possibly Indonesia will be included on the invites. and even Bahrain Football Association (BFA) is eyeing a bigger partnership with the Azkals, including more training camps here and the possible staging of a four-nation tournament featuring neighboring Gulf nations (Middle East) like Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates and the Azkals in 2012. sports.inquirer.net/7889/bahrain-eyes-azkals-for-four-nation-tournament-training-campssports.inquirer.net/9301/more-friendlies-to-toughen-azkals-pff-plans-4-country-tourney-------------------------- Though not getting a single goal versus 2nd and 3rd Bundesliga team ( FC Ingolstadt , SV Darmstadt ) during the Friendly match in Germany, it is but a good thing that these match really honed their skills of high level football in EUROPE - according to your favorite player Ian Araneta himself (gma interview). s1.postimage.org/gf9rc77l7/ara.jpgi dont know why your making a big fuss about this by sending me personal message. but if you want to suggest what country or team level you want azkals to play, feel free to comment to this thread below. usapangfootball.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=787thanks.

Post conference comments by the Kuwaiti side on the Azkal's potential:
“You have great talents and good system in place. You have to continue playing to gain more experience. We may have more experience and better ranking but I think in a short period of time, the Philippines will become one of the top 10 national teams in Asia,” the Kuwait coaching staff, led by Tufegdzic, said appeared in the post-match press conference."
Added head coach Goran Tefugdzic, “It was a challenge playing the Philippines. They gave us trouble here and there but I think it was our experience that got us through.”
“If you keep to what you are doing you will be an Asian power in two maybe four years,” said Kuwaiti asst. coach Hamad. “You have the skills and the players. Just make it come together.”
And here is the what Coach Weiss had to say about the timeline for the Azkals: “We still have a long way to go but the Philippines is on the right track. The team will be a contender for the World Cup in the next four years [in my own point of view] but we will need more international exposure and extensive training,” said the German mentor"
It looks like the 2018 WC is what they are aiming for. Just last year, I thought it would take more than 20 years for us to even consider making the WC. Now they are talking 7 years. How things have changed in just a few months. We might not reach it in that timeframe, but it is nice that other countries are taking it seriously when we make such pronouncements.

I think we will be more succesful with these guys. Anyways, we will still see them in Suzuki Cup. We Believe!! I was actually hoping that we could be in with either Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, or Thailand. We might have a better chance on advancing to the 3rd round and play some more extra games in the group. I thought that was the best case scenario. But in the end, I'm still not disappointed. I'm just a little down coz I think we had a great chance of getting the draw or 1-0 win in Manila after the first half. Now I can't wait for the next games. On another note, we need more Schrocks in the national team. Team play still needs improvement. And we need defensive reserves not to mention age is starting to catch-up on some of the defensive players. I think the best combination of all the called up players can beat any of the top SEA team consistently but better players will always be a desire. I've only followed this team since last year but it's rare to see a program turn things around so fast like what the Philippines NT has done. Very exciting.

Ignore him na lang, he doesn't even know what he's talking about. "Mercs" means they are journeymen being paid for their services, but those foreign-based Filipino players chose to play for the country of (at least one of) their parents.
