Growing up in the old downtown area I'm so used to calling the place as the Abellana grounds that calling it by its new name takes a lot to get used to. ;D
It looks like I may have to drag my arse to SM and fall in line for the tickets then. I hate to register on that site just for this one event. It will likely be a family affair for us, so will have to check the seats with the reasonable prices. ;D

sa abellana ni? dli ba gamay ang field didto? abellana sports complex? i think the field there is small compared to rizal memorial stadium. but maybe i'm wrong, haven't been there since 2005. ;D from what i heard it is a FIFA standard football pitch. i think the pitch there is quite bigger compared to the Jelan Basar pitch of Singapore. anyway, my friend told me that the ticket status is now limited. need to confirm though. have to secure a ticket tomorrow morning. is anyone interested to go with me? I hope your wrong... next week pa mo larga ako amigo palit cya ticket nag padala lng ko kwarta...

Which of the players will be available for the game in Cebu? I know there's no official call-up list yet, but based on the club schedules, will we get to see any of our Euro players besides those in our local clubs?

Looks like the CFA and the local football community are now rolling out the media rounds for this match. I just heard Rico Navarro interviewed on FM radio this morning. He's saying the preps for the facility and the pitch is moving along as scheduled. He said the base is in pretty good condition and the pitch should be up to standard come Nov 15.

azkals already beat the lions handily in Jurong. after the great results in the middle east training camp, there should be no reason for them to repeat at home. they should stand their ground and defend home field. hope the cebuanos also come out in full force and support our team

im hoping azkals beat SG back to back to prove we are now better than them. But Duric will be available this time. Recent news is that their current Serbian coach Avramovic will be having his final year amidst any result aftr Suzuki cup 2012, so their serbian support players might follow.

i think the only doubtfuls are Etheridge, Shrocky and Angel Guirado since they are heavily needed by their respective clubs.
I bet Muller, Juani Guirado, Cagara, Lucena, and Mulders will be available.
Phil and James and the rest of the Peace cup boys, (including Sabio i hope) and we are ready for a podium finish

With Uncle Duric back in SG's fold, i expect this to be an intense game, but Sabio or Gier should wear out Grandpa Duric. I just despise him.

PFF upgrading Rizal Memorial Football Stadium for potential Suzuki Cup home matchThe Philippine Football Federation is currently exerting all of its efforts to make the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium a viable home venue for the national football team should it advance to the semifinals of the 2012 ASEAN Football Federation Suzuki Cup. When the Azkals reached the semifinals of the Suzuki Cup two years ago, the Filipinos were forced to play their home match in Indonesia due to a lack of venue that meets the organizers’ standard. Indonesia won the series on aggregate, 2-0, to end the team’s surprising run in the tournament. PFF communications head Ebong Joson said that they are now providing the necessary facilities required by the AFF and its marketing partner World Sports Group to make the Rizal Stadium eligible to host the home match of the Azkals if they move on the semifinals. “We feel confident that we’ll pass,” Joson told InterAKTV. “I’m very confident na as long as di bumagyo, papasa tayo sa field condition.” “The upgrading of the 1200 minimum required floodlights is (also) currently being done.” Joson added that the AFF wants the country to host its home match in the semifinals since the Azkals are no longer a surprise team, as compared to before. “They still want it to happen. (They told me that) ‘we want you because you’re such a strong team now,” Joson said. However, Joson said that the the 2010 incident may happen again if the Rizal Stadium still doesn’t pass the AFF’s standards when it makes its final inspection on November 8. “It’s Rizal (Stadium) or bust. That’s why it’s very crucial,” Joson said. “That’s why it just can’t be Rizal. In the future, we should make more infrastructure.” The Rizal Stadium was initially set to be renovated this year funded by FIFA. However, the project did not push through due to issues regarding the PFF’s exclusive management of the venue for 25 years – a condition which is in conflict with the Philippine Sports Commission, the agency that has full control of all sports facilities owned by the national government. The Azkals will first play in Bangkok, Thailand in the group stages of the Suzuki Cup from November 24 to December 1. A home-and-away format will then be adopted during the semifinals from December 8 to December 13 and finals from December 19 to December 22. www.interaksyon.com/interaktv/pff-upgrading-rizal-memorial-football-stadium-for-potential-suzuki-cup-home-match
