Is this the stadium south of SouthWe? I used to visit my, uh, female friend, in their apartment near SWU ;P. It's somewhere near Jones Ave. & Uytengsu/ Urgello Sts. I also remember being taken to Mango/Maxilom Ave. for some "quality time", hehe. Wish I could go there this Nov. for this match.

im going to buy a ticket later. sana meron pa Meron pa pero nasa back portion na across all areas. No more seats available in Blue and White. VIP has only about 70+ left. This looks like there's going to be a good turnout. My sister called me and she said Don Bosco are encouraging the kids to buy tickets. I'm sure the other schools are doing the same. So we expect the tickets to be likely sold out by next week if not this weekend.

I hope they pack this stadium, just so PFF can see that we have another venue in the Philippines where we can invite other teams to friendlies so we don't have to suffer through friendlies with non FIFA officials and play "real" FIFA "A" matches(if you know what I'm talking about ).

Azkals vs. Singapore in Cebu November 15CEBU CITY - The Cebu Football Association has announced that the Philippine Azkals and Singapore Lions will face off on Nov. 15 at the Cebu City Sports Center . “This will be the first for Cebu . We're trying our best to do it successfully to put Cebu on the football map that could lead to Cebu hosting more tournaments in the future,” CFA president Ricky Dakay said. CFA will also purchase Nike Maxim soccer balls for the game, which will be used for future CFA-sanctioned tournaments, while the improvements at the sports center on the rooms will become permanent already. This will be the last game for both teams before the 2012 AFF Suzuki Cup and locals are encouraged to wear blue in support of the men's national football team. ”Let's make this hosting happened. We can't do it alone but we need the support of Cebuanos,” Dakay added. Dakay said tickets for Cebu 's first international hosting stint will be available for sale at any SM Cinema ticket booths nationwide. The tickets were made available for sale starting yesterday. The CFA partnered with SM for the distribution of the tickets that will be made available in its 44 ticket outlets in the country. It can also be purchased online at www.smtickets.com. Patrons in the Visayas can purchase the tickets at SM Cebu, SM Consolacion, SM Bacolod and SM Iloilo, while those coming from Mindanao can buy the tickets at SM Davao and SM Cagayan de Oro. To prevent chaos on game day, the seats will be numbered and one can actually choose one's seats upon purchase of tickets, just like booking for a movie. The seat numbers will be reflected in the band that will be given to the viewer for easy counter-checking with the ticket marshals. The group will also adopt the Sinulog colors in selling the 5,129 tickets VIP tickets are priced at P2,000, while the red tickets for seats located at the back will cost P800. White tickets are priced at P600, while the yellow and blue tickets are at P400. Pink and green are P200. The board will also set up additional bleachers, which will be at P1,000 per seat, and they will give a total of 100 free tickets for radio and online promotions. Part of the ticket proceeds will be given to the Philippine Councilors' League Cebu City Chapter.*PNA www.visayandailystar.com/2012/October/19/sportnews3.htm

Azkals face off against LionsBLEACHER TALK By Rico Navarro (The Freeman) Updated October 21, 2012 12:00 AM Comments (0) View comments Yes. That’s right. The Azkals are coming to Cebu. You better believe it. But did you know that it’s an event that wasn’t supposed to happen? When international games and training camps of the Azkals were discussed for 2012, Cebu was nowhere near the radar as a venue. The Azkals had a training camp in the United States in August, hosted the Philippine Peace Cup in September, just wrapped up its training in the Middle East and was open for one more friendly game in November. This was the last available date that the FIFA opened for inter-country games before the start of the AFF Suzuki Cup, Southeast Asia’s most prestigious football tournament. It used to be called the “Tiger Cup.” But after members of the Cebu Football Association Board and sportswriters had dinner with Dan Palami a few months ago, the Azkals had a host. “How about Cebu for a welcome change of scenery?” the board asked Dan. After all, the Azkals had already played in Manila and Bacolod. Previous versions of the Azkals also played in Iloilo in the past. But they had never played Cebu. They did make some visits as individual members of the team, but never played an international game here, whether it be a tournament game or a simple friendly (exhibition) game. There were a lot of talks of the Azkals coming over to Cebu in the past, but for some reason, Dan wasn’t convinced Cebu could pull it off. For starters, we didn’t have a good football field with a grandstand. The good news is that we can all put that behind us now even if the time table is really tight. Formal approval of Cebu as a host of the Azkals-Singapore game was announced in mid-September by the Philippine Football Federation. This gave the organizing committee two months to get it up and going. First priority was to provide the basic requirements of an international friendly game. Starting with the venue, the Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC) is being spruced up. The grass of the football field is getting an additional facelift on top of the major rehab that it went through when the oval was repaired. Locker rooms and other important function rooms are being repaired to meet international standards. In line with the need to accommodate the fans vis-à-vis FIFA standards, numbered seats will be the norm for all spectators, a first for the CCSC. The grandstand has been laid out and will be “stickered” with designated seat assignments. On the side, the CFA office is also being built right beside the entrance of the Cebu City Sports Center. Other important activities that are worked on include the need for accommodations, transportation, coordination with the local government (traffic, security, etc.) and the communication campaign. A press conference was held to launch the event logo and the kick-off of ticket sales. The marketing team and Advertising Services and Promotions (ASAP) came up with an event logo that has drawn impressive comments on Facebook the moment it was launched (even if it had some minor errors). The logo features a fierce-looking Azkal ready to get it on with a Lion (Singapore’s moniker). The official event name is appropriately Face Off in Cebu City: Philippine Azkals vs. Singapore Lions. Where else in the world can you see an azkal go up against a lion? Only in Cebu indeed. I’m sure you’ll hear more about the event as the days go by. The team has already gone on air over radio. A fan page has been set up in Facebook. You can search “Cebu Football” and “Face-Off: Azkals vs. Singapore” and you’ll see what I mean. Like it while you’re at it. The interesting thing here is that you’ll also see novel stories such as a Jay Henry Ermac who lined up for an hour to buy ticket(s) at SM Cebu. He even excitedly took a picture of his ticket and posted this on Facebook. The same is true for our colleague Noel Villaflor who posted his acknowledgement receipt/notice with the tag, ”www.smtickets.com works.” Someone declared that he already bought 69 tickets, while another took a picture of his tickets as if these were a fan or a hand of a poker game (pyat-pyat ba). The official ticketing partner is “SM Tickets.” Those who want to watch the game can buy their tickets at any SM Cinema booth nationwide or online through www.smtickets.com. On Facebook, someone said that he bought his tickets at the I-Max of SM Cebu. So far, ticket sales (over the counter) have been registered in Davao, Tarlac and Consolacion. This excludes tickets purchased online. The organizing team also expects sales from SM Bacolod and SM Iloilo which are known to be hotbeds of football. Buying early brings in its fruits. You get first crack at choosing where to sit. Some prefer to get as close as possible to the field, while others prefer the over-looking view from the middle of the stands. Some want to sit beside the players! Ticket prices and their section are P200 (Pink & Green), P400 (Blue and Yellow), P600 (White), P800 (Red) and P2,000 (VIP). So far, so good. Sales have been pretty brisk considering that this was officially opened last Wednesday. But don’t worry. There are a lot of seats still available; but it does help to buy early. So what are you waiting for? Be part of history and watch the first ever international game of the Azkals in Cebu live. Let’s do this for Cebu. Weiss checks venue for Azkals friendlySunday, October 21, 2012 PHILIPPINE men’s national football team coach Hans Michael Weiss took the time off from his short vacation to visit the Cebu City Sports Center, which will host the friendly match between the Philippines and Singapore on November 15. Though the facilities and equipment in the 14-year-old sports center, built for the 1994 Palarong Pambansa, are a far-cry from international standard, the German coach said Cebu can set a good start by improving on these things for future hosting of international friendlies. “It is still behind international standards but not to put it in a bad light, this should be a start for improvements,” said Weiss, who inspected the pitch dugout and shower room. Weiss, who spent some 30 minutes checking the pitch, also told the Cebu Football Association about the need to level the field. Weiss also had a short kick-around with Francis Ramirez, who is part of the working committee, to test the pitch. Ramirez said that they have already planted grass on those barren portions of the pitch and will still continue to put fertilizer to maintain the condition of the grass, which will undergo a series of mowing before a final one just five days before the game. Ramirez said they have also noted the bumpy sections that need to be leveled and the deep portions that need to be filled. Ticket salesWeiss also said he is happy with the sales of the tickets, with 70 percent already sold. Some 3,000 tickets are left in the pink and the green areas and the soon to be installed extended bleachers. CFA president Ricky Dakay assured Weiss that he and the other members of the board will do their best to deliver what’s needed. “At least we will start on the right foot here and we will not stop on Nov. 15,” said Dakay. Before the visit, Weiss was also the special guest in the football clinic by the Queen City United and the Minglanilla Football Club. The event attracted 100 kids and a few teachers from Minglanilla Central School and it was part of QCU’s vision in promoting the sport at the grassroots level.
