fadzki, I like your lineup, but I'm still a bit unsure about PYH. Random has made a good case in his favor though I just wonder if he would be more effective as an impact sub at some point in the second half, taking out Dennis Wolf who might get a start if he is fit enough after his flu?

With the current standing, azkals need to win this match against Vietnams at least by 2 goals to avoid elimination from the group stage. Talent alone can not produce victory if not enough courage + strategy.

we need to win and we also need a help from Myanmar. if they can upset or at least settle for a draw against the Thais, it would really be a big help to us

The group indeed is still wide open and all the teams still have chances to advance. It is critical that we win the next game if we have any hopes of advancing and I think we can do this especially after the way we played in the second half. My guess is since both teams need a win that the Philippines Vietnam match will be a wide open game with both teams trying to attack and get a goal. In this context, our defence needs to be wary of any counterattacks that Vietnam might launch as we have proven vulnerable to this tactic in the system that Weiss has used in the past when attacking.
One observation that i think should be used in the next game right from the start is that Reichelt played an outstanding game and he deserves to be part of the starting lineup. Hopefully Omphroy recovers soon as our right side defence could use some help.

My lineup vs. VIE 1. NO Jonsson please. Demit Omphroy, back from flu hopefully will get the nod. 2.Reichelt over James YH. Is there even a debate with this? 3. Marwin over Phil YH. I like Phil as a substitute to heal his eye and to frustrate the Vietnamese on who to mark. 4. Christiaens over Chieffy. Is there even a debate with this again? Chieffy has been a liability for big international games and it is time for Christiaens to be given FULL confidence and rightfully take that spot as a starter. 5. Subs: Phil for Marwin at 45' De Jong for Lucena at 70' James for Angel Guirado at 85', with Reichelt moving forward as striker and James at Right midfield. 6. These is my ideal setup assuming Wolf is still injured. If Wolf is available, i like him to start in the place of Angel Guirado.

My lineup vs. VIE Good, line up but switch Angeles with Mulders. Mulders was more advanced than Marwin in that 2nd half against the Thais where the team started playing better and got a goal. Marwin is more effective in a semi-holding role and he can play box to box a la Khedira. His goal against Singapore is an example of that. Mulders in a more advanced position should improve our offensive capabilities.

Got it! i agree thanks Marwin and Mulders will make wonders in that midfield they can solidify it and provide more chances and attacks.

I like this line up, since I think the viets have already made plans in stopping Pyh since he is the most dangerous player up front, it might be good for us if comes in after 15min of the 2ND HALF. Angel as striker makes it more unpredictable since he loves to be always on the move creating spaces for marwin and paul in filling up those spaces , we win this one and we have a high probability of advancing to the semis

Based on our last game vs Thai, I want to see this starting 11 vs the Vietnam team, we really need to win this one..I want to see DeMurga as our RB since he is the only legitimate RB in our squad now, but if he is still not 100% tomorrow and Omphroy is already okay, Omphroy can start instead of DeMurga..also I want Christeans and Reichelt to start instead of Caligdong and A. Guirado, then use Guirado as super sub on the last 30 mins. he can replace either Reichelt or James depending on their performance tomorow.

Younghusband, Guirado, Wolf healthy for Azkals match against Vietnam BANGKOK, Thailand – After being at the receiving end of Thailand’s physical play last Saturday, members of the Philippine national men’s football team assured that they will be healthy in time for their crucial match against Vietnam on Tuesday in the 2012 ASEAN Football Federation Suzuki Cup here. Star striker Phil Younghusband’s boxer’s cut above his above his left eye after a collision with an opponent rendered him a non-factor against Thailand, and he hopes to do better against Vietnam. “It’s okay, no stitches needed,” said Younghusband. “It should be okay for the next game.” Defender Juani Guirado also busted his lip after an elbow from Thailand’s Teerasil Dangda. “It wasn’t just a laceration. It was a puncture with an entry and exit,” said team manager Dan Palami, but who assured that the Filipino-Spanish defender will be available for the next game. Azkals coach Hans Michael Weiss also said that striker Denis Wolf has recovered from an ankle injury suffered last week. “Wolf is coming back. Wolf is fit,” Weiss said, hinting that the Most Valuable Player of the Philippine Football Peace Cup last September might start against Vietnam. Midfielder Demitrius Omphroy is already out of the hospital after being confined due to flu. Weiss said, however, that he may not still be fit to play. Weiss, who was suspended one game for throwing the ball at a Thai player hopes that the healthier Azkals will perform better against Vietnam. “The group will be more compact and stronger tomorrow,” Weiss said. “That gives me hope that our game will be better.” The Azkals will face Vietnam at the Rajamangala Stadium on Tuesday for the Suzuki Cup. www.interaksyon.com/interaktv/younghusband-guirado-wolf-healthy-for-azkals-match-against-vietnamfinally a GOOD F****** NEWS i thought today was a bad day cause of riechet loosing 2 tooth not 3.hopes are up for tom game come on boys we can smell the door to the semi final round.
