In the past the Malditas have put high school girls on the field. Now Ernie has to pick 15 players from among dozens who have played US NCAA Division 1. There are two more NCAA D1 players in Manila right now who aren't included in the 15. It makes sense to bring only 15 from overseas. Bringing a promising player all the way to Bangladesh only to leave her on the bench would certainly anger the player and any proud family members who came to watch her play. A star player might not come back if her playing time is limited in order to give playing time to others in the Bangladesh game (for example). I really think that they are going to win this tournament. Heather Cooke scored a hat trick against Singapore. The Malditas are not considering her as a striker any more because they have much better options up front. Like a lot of people, I have thought Ernie's predictions in the past were wildly over optimistic. I believe that a victory over Thailand is a realistic goal. I think Thailand has been reading the news reports and they are well aware of the challenge they face. Laban

I really think you guys need to calm down. All I'll say is this....We're going to field a very strong team come May. We believe, good sir! Keep up the great work. I hope you don't mind if I post these videos on my FB page? They're great! Sure no problem. just be sure to give John Cowart credit for the video.

I just hope that the locals have started to prepare themselves physically and mentally for this.

I can see that The Philippines women football will become a force in South East Asia as well. The commitment, dedication, discipline and sacrifices they put in, they will reap the fruits of the labor.
You got a team of dedicated women in the team. When I was in PI, My, the number of teenage girls turnout for the football academy school amazes me. Wow! i was whispering to myself at the big turnout and I was very impressed, They really sweat out on the pitch under the summer humid month of May. Your women football has the potential to reach the sky if they want to, along with good support from the fans and public

when I made my last post I assumed that readers would know that Heather Cooke was the Malditas top defender and only went up front because she was their best choice to score. Now she can go back to her natural defender position because even though she has the skill to score a hat trick there are others, like Jesse Shugg, who are even more dangerous up front. Jesse scored an impressive 5 goals in one game at the L.A. Vikings Cup! I hope nobody thought that I was putting down Heather who switched positions for the good of the team.

You have some points regarding the number of players who are based from the US. And I know some of their parents will go and support their child and the team. Coach Ernie will then have to pick his best 15 from the US camp to incorporate with those based in the country. After all 11 players will be on the field with 3 subs makes it a total of 14. The local based players will have to step up the their game to prove they deserve to make it on the field. Let their game earn their spots in the starting 11. US based players in general are really equipped to succeed internationally. They have access to better coaches, facilities, training and they play all year round with tournaments here and there. It is practically the Women's sport in the US. That cannot be said to those based in our country to be fair. Incidentally while watching John Cowart's video I also checked his daughter's videos Jessika. While these are just highlights and I have not seen her in real action for an entire game, all I can say is wooow. Isn't she skilled and athletic? Oooh does she belong in the U14 group?
It will be exiting how Coach Ernie forms his team and how they will play as a team. As he gets better players for his disposal expectations will also be high for coach and his team to produce results. I hope they succeed in securing a spot in the final stage of the World Cup qualifying. And we will be rooting for them. Hopefully TV stations will support them by showing their games on National TV. The Malditas sure has a lot of promise and potential.

A lot of good quality and we're hoping to add to that for future camps.
