Im expecting afghanistan to beat Laos on Saturday with 5 goals, so in my standing after RP-Laos + my assumption: Afghanistan - 4pts +5 GD Philippines - 4pts +2 GD Turkmenistan - 3pts +4 GD Laos - 0 pts -11GD Now, if Afghanistan and Turkmenistan draw, heres the scenario later + my assumption of afghan win againsta Laos: Afghanistan - 5pts +5GD Turkmenistan - 4pts +4GD Philippines - 4pts +2GD Laos - 0pts -11GD With this scenario above, it makes sense, that Philippines must beat Turkmenistan at all cost, a draw would eliminate us. Now, if Turkmenistan beats Afghanistan with 1-0 later + my assumption of afghan win vs laos, heres the scenario: Turkmenistan - 6pts +5GD Afghanistan - 4pts +4GD Philippines - 4pts +2 GD Laos - 0 pts -11GD With the scenario above, a draw or a win will make us advance to the semis, a loss will eliminate us. So its important that in Saturdays game that we win, no matter what circumstance or scenario that we are looking at. The game on saturday will put pressure on the boys, and when our boys play will pressure, most of the time we win. Remember 2012 challenge cup against Tajikistan and 2012 Suzuki Cup against Vietnam? Crossing my fingers that we win! Goodluck to us! what if Turmenistan beat Afghanistan by 3 goals?? Turkmenistan - 6pts +7GD Philippines - 4pts +2 GD afghanistan - 1pt - 3 GD Laos - 0 pts - -6 GD so on Saturday assuming we will loss on Saturday vs. the Turks(God forbid) by a goal we will have +1 that means Afghanistan must beat Laos by 5 goals (4pts. +2 GD)to advance... will be rooting for Laos on Saturday, Man, im just being realistic but im not seeing Laos winning or drawing against Afghanistan. Its a mattef of how many goals they will give up. Thats why Im hoping that turkmenistan beat afghanistan by at least 2 goals. But basing on their last game, it might end up a draw again or just a 1-nil game with either afghanistan or turkmenistan winning. What im nervous about is how the hell we'll beat turkmenistan if we cant score goals?

I didnt watch the game but I see a lot of comment about Phil. To me the most important thing is he is getting chances. If he buries those 2 chances you guys will be raving his form. Ill be more concern if hes not getting any chance. I am sure Messi misses a one on one with the keeper and Ive seen Ovechkin get stoned on a breakaway. As long as he is getting those chances he will bury them eventually.
I still believe we beat the turks 2-0.

i agree with everyone that phil is currently out of tune but the important thing is he made the first big step after injury , that is to go wake up and train and go back to the pitch, he will get those goals guys , lets just hope he gets it vs Turkmenistan and as per boybato i agree with him he is getting the chances the team is working as a group now we will progress lets believe

Coach Dooley seems to give phil all the playing timw he needs to get his timing. Plus he have given the youngster amani his first tournament cap,not to mention his great passes to coach dooley (just kidding). He has a great physique and i hope he could learn with gier. De jong was a revelation in the last 2 games very composed at the holding mid, he distributes the ball really well. Im hoping for a win against turk on monday and pls football god give us 2-0 scoreline (am i asking for too much?)

Nice goal by Rota. And good thing it avoided Reichelt's head.
Why are Amani's passes curling towards the wrong direction? Must be the wind?
And Phil, you've had more difficult goals than that! We need the old Phil to get back real quick, wake up!
Why is it that we're going back to Weiss' offense with those long balls?
Bob Guerrero is having trouble with numbers. He said "forty-oneth minute", and computed 6 minutes of added time as 240 seconds.

I think they use the long balls to capitalize on our height and heft advantage against laos.

Why are Amani's passes curling towards the wrong direction? Must be the wind? if anything, it was more of him facing the sun when crossing to Coach, i mean Cagara.

More extensive coverage by UAE based "The National": Dooley said he was pleased with his team’s ability to create chances, if not finish them. “We had many chances, a couple headers where the timing was off, we jumped a little too late or came a little too close, all those little details that a team at a higher level would finish. Sometimes, you’re just a little bit off,” he said. “Phil had one or two chances he would normally finish. Those are things that if you really want to kill somebody, that’s what you have to do. If you get two chances, you have to score one goal. If you get six, seven, eight chances and score only two, you have to think about it. But we wanted to win this game no matter what, so that’s why it’s OK.” Read more: www.thenational.ae/sport/football/injuries-threaten-to-take-lustre-off-philippines-win-at-challenge-cup#full#ixzz32aoRxGemFollow us: @thenationaluae on Twitter | thenational.ae on Facebook
