Express Sport can reveal the Philippines national coach wants to call-up the Dark Blues midfielder. The former England and Manchester City boss has already made contact and is trying to convince the talented 22-year-old to commit his international future to the Philippines. Curran, who is also eligible to represent Australia and Scotland, qualifies as his parents are Filipino. Philippines national goalkeeping coach Steve Marsella said: “Chris Greatwich, who is one of the assistant coaches within the Philippines national team, first alerted us to the possibility that Jesse Curran has Filipino heritage. “Another of our coaches, Scott Cooper, then managed to get in touch with Jesse, who confirmed he is eligible to play for the Philippines through his parents. We have watched a lot of footage on Jesse and he has done really well at Dundee, especially this season. “Jesse is a boy with real pace and quality but can also play in a number of positions, as he has shown in his time at Dundee.” Curran, who joined Dundee from Central Coast Mariners three years ago, is not the only Scottish-based player that the Philippines are looking to cap. Former Hibernian and Inverness goalkeeping coach Marsella added: “We are looking into others in the SPFL who are eligible to play for the Philippines through parents or grandparents. “There are one or two other Scottish-based players we have been alerted to.” www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1045519/Dundee-news-Sven-Goran-Eriksson-Jesse-Curran-Scotland-Philippines

Only 2 months to go before the Asian Cup. They better move fast if they want to include these players. I don't know why current players like Amin Nazari and Alvaro Silva are having eligibility issues at this time and could not play in the Suzuki Cup, when the PFF had months to work on this issues.

At this current time, I don't know as well. AFF and AFC I think has different processes in terms of eligibility.

Philippines national coach, former England boss Sven Goran Eriksson, has been in touch but Jesse Curran reveals it is his mum who is really desperate for him to play for the country of her birth. The 22-year-old Dundee winger also qualifies for Scotland thanks to his late dad Tom as well as for his homeland Australia. However, it is mum Mary-Ann, who is originally from Manila, who is really turning up the heat for him to pursue his international ambitions with the Philippines. Curran said: “I just have to see what happens. I can also play for Australia and Scotland. I will wait and see what happens and after that I can weigh up my options. “I have spoken to Sven Goran Eriksson. He has rung me and he has invited me out to have a look around and to see what I think. “I might go out and have a look. He has worked with some top clubs, countries and players. “There will be a lot to learn from him if I do go. “They have qualified for the Asian Cup. It is massive for them and I think it is the first time they have qualified in years. www.thecourier.co.uk/fp/sport/football/dundee-fc/794334/dundees-jesse-curran-reveals-his-mum-and-her-family-all-want-him-to-play-for-the-philippines/

IMO no chance for this guy to join us. But it's football, prove me wrong Jesse.

Have previously confirmed that he will join the camp in Bangkok on March 18-26, but withdrew to focus on his team's fight to stay in the 1st division in Scotland. He will instead join the Training Camp in June.

I hope the reason of his absence in the squad list against Syria and Guam is about paperworks. Hehe. Baka kasi undecided pa din siya hanggang ngayon wag naman sana

Baka kasi undecided pa din siya hanggang ngayon wag naman sana Curran is included in the Azkals' 39-man pool, and it would be a bummer if he's undecided yet. There are other guys who are willing to play for us.
