He seems to be playing at quite a low level in Italy but has a lot of experience... I think he should be called up as we really need some backup in defence...

He seems to be a free agent now, but I agree with SimonManila. Rota has played for Pro Sesto and Lugano, both these teams are of quite a good level. (4th division Italy and 2nd division Switzerland)

He'll be a better back-up defender than Sabio. Sometimes, Sabio's defense is CALAMITOUS!

He can play in a number of positions and is left-footed which is a bonus. Hopefully, we can get in contact with him.

Simone's club was relegated last season from Serie D. ASDC Borgomanero will now compete in Eccellenza which is in level 6 of Italian football league system. His career was blossoming with Pro Sesto while competing in Serie C1 and specially when he was loaned out to FC Lugano in 08-09 season not until Pro Sesto went bankruptcy. Now he's struggling to climb through the ranks once again. But the good thing is he's only 26 years old like Dennis Cagara so time is on his side to recover. Borgomanero will have a friendly against Serie A bound Novara today at 5PM (Italian time). Hope he performs well against Italy's top flight players.
Btw, Simone said that he has already applied for Philippine citizenship and he's just waiting for his Philippine passport. Perhaps he needs the help of PFF to expedite his passport.

Simone and company bowed to Novara, 5-0. He was replaced as early as in the 14th minute not knowing why. Maybe he got injured or he messed up badly early in the game. Match report in this link: www.oknovara.it/news/?p=34374

Well Im sure Mr Palami knows about this guy. If he is willing to play for the PI that only means we've won half the battle already. I didnt know he was a left footer, perfect to back up R. Jonsson. He's just hitting his peak at this age, if he was around, in my opinion he could possibly replace del Rosario(taking account that Rota has been in higher level competition and training than Del Rosario), Del Rosario coming off the bench, I think would be better than any other options we have at this time. Although I do like del Rosario, he is very steady at his current position, Rota would be an upgrade. Just thinking out loud... Go Azkals!!
...or vice versa, as in Rota backs up del Rosario. Whatever the coach thinks is best of course. Now if Lucena was in the mix, that'd be a great problem to have(in the back field)!

How he looks now. Against Serie A, Novara. Long hair left side.
