That means De Jong will be unlikely at the back, if he isn't to fill in for Jonsson.

We go play armchair coach again, don't we? I'm excited that he was immediately called up to fill in the gaps due to the unavailability of our veteran Euro-defenders. A nice breath of fresh air for me.

Tweet from Cedelf Tupas: coach Weiss impressed w/ Fil-Spanish defender Carli olaivar de Murga, who has promised to play n SEA Games if he's picked.
So he plays in LT Cup and SEAG if picked? That's a lot of games missed for his club! I hope he can manage it though, that's a lot of sacrifice on his part too.

www.manilastandardtoday.com/insideSports.htm?f=2011%2Fseptember%2F8%2Fsports2.isx&d=2011%2Fseptember%2F8Fil-Spanish booter impresses coach Weiss FIL-SPANISH booter Carlos Alberto Martinez de Murga has created quite an impression after his first two days of scrimmages with the national pool. National coach Hans Michael Weiss said the intensity which the 23-year old Martinez has shown will definitely make him one of the players to watch. “This is similar to the impression I got when Angel (Guirado) first came to the team. He can make a contribution, without a doubt,†said Weiss after the joint practices of the Philippine Azkals men’s team and the national under-23 team were finished last Tuesday at the Rizal Memorial football pitch. Martinez de Murga, whose mother hails from Quezon City, plays as a right back for the third division Racing Club Portuense in Spain. He arrived in Manila on Monday and immediately joined the practices. Weiss added that he expects Martinez to show his full potential by next week when he has finally shrugged the effects of jet lag after traveling all the way from Spain. His presence comes at a time when Guirado is taking a few months of rest before rejoining the Azkals by the late quarter of the year. Martinez de Murga is one of seven Fil-foreigners seeking a slot in the national under-23 team. Three Fil-Belgian booters, who national team manager Dan Palami got in touch with while on a scouting trip in Europe, arrived yesterday to try out for the national booters. Among them is Johan Van Bossche, Jeffrey Christiaens and Angelo Verheye, who will be around when the national under-23 squad goes to Bacolod for a training camp. Fil-German goalie Roland Mueller is expected to rejoin the team in time for its stint in the Long Teng Cup later this month. Brothers Mark and Matthew Hartmann are also seeking their spots in the squad.

Well, since Coach Weiss is committed in using Schroeck at midfield, Carlie seems to be the best option at right back from the sound of it. Looks like Del Rosario is in danger of losing his starting position.

One of the newer article I posted, supposedly Carli will play CB replacing the absent Rob G. Also, after the LTCup, RG will, almost surely, still be absent. Perhaps he is staying at CB with Anton retaining his job at RB(for the senior friendlies)?? My only guess is the discipline problem that coach talked about a few days ago, perhaps he was involved? There is no disputing his and the other backs competence in the 2010 and early 2011 matches. Only Kuwait scored more than 2 goals against us with he and his cohorts at the defensive helm. Also, Aly as Captain will not be involved in the LT Cup, whats that all about(he isn't in Bacolod with the LT Cup Azkal contingent)? So many questions...
But if Cagara and Lucena comes down for the Friendlies, that would be a good problem to have at defensive back side and for sure Carli takes the RB, time will tell...
