No pare, if you watch it again he said that Mulders is waste in that "position" not that Mulders is totally waste as a player. Could have been Angeles there. As Hans also said that de Jong was playing two position Holding Mid/Cental Mid.
One thing I noticed, when they are interviewing Coach Weiss, Hans Smith and Armand is smiling, parang may tinatago ayaw lang sabihin live.
Kung gusto mo tumawa paminsan minsan, sa AKTV ka. lol dun sa reaction nila nung nakagoal si Phil.

I Don't like Hans Smith he said "Mulders is a waste" I Hope someone from that station or near to him can read my opinion here. "Hans Smith, He is the waste" look at him on camera.. I Hope AKTV will realize how to get a decent commentator next time. Sorry guys if I offended someone here but it's just my observation. I think you got it wrong. I believe he was referring to as Mulders not being used in his favorable position. It was a waste using him as a holding mid when he could be up front used as an Attacking Mid or Forward. Nothing wrong with what coach Hans has said. It was a typical male room bantering (Kanchawan) over at the AKTV center and it shows that those guys know each other. I actually like this approach of AKTV center. A laid back discussion over the game and some nonsense reactions which makes it fun. Lol!

On to the ESPN Star Sports commentators. I wanted to bring it up much earlier (actually back in Suzuki Cup 2010, even) but the commentators we hear during the live broadcast and the guy you hear on the YouTube clips ("That is totally... bizaare") are different, apparently. I enjoy the live guys more. When the Myanmar game was just going back and forth they started talking about the blossoming of football in the Philippines, which I enjoyed. They even welcomed the new converts. "Welcome to football! Forget your baseball... er, and basketball... this is the game to watch!" One of my favorite parts of the 2010 Suzuki Cup was the semi-final preview show. They started using the name "Azkals" then and highlighted some of our players. Their analysis was quite spot-on too (shallow, non-existent bench: no options). They were visibly excited about the Philippines being there, a totally unknown variable in the grand picture of the Cup. I'm looking forward to what they have to say this year.

Jason Webb is a good commentator - not trying hard and always fun to watch sports shows that he is in.

Ang bagal lang sumagot ni Hans Smit. Low volume pa. The pace of the discussion goes down a couple of notches when it's his turn.

ESPN/Star's coverage has been a lot better without "experts" Paul Masefield and Shebby Singh.

Did anyone notice all three times(vs Thailand, Vietnam & Myanmar) Coach Smit while talking about his point had to stop and had that "smokers cough?!" Very funny, but also kinda disgusting, lol!
Was that Jason Webb? Sorry not familiar but the guy on the right is pretty good as a moderator type, at least he was professional. del Rosario, I found was better that Sabio who's voice was really low and monotone, Neil Etheridge who had an English accent but was clearly not comfortable commentating and Borromeo who was ok but has not improved much.
Hans Smit as a coach had good points and was ok except for his freakin coughs and delivery.

I tot Im the only one who noticed it. He may know a lot when it comes to football but TV is not his medium. Boring kausap si Smit, pa FPJ effect pa.hahaha. Mas ok pa si BobG 10 times fold.

Agree, Wiking. Solid si Jason as the moderator.
Jason Webb, Chris Soler and one active soccer player (as of now, that's Armand). That should be a good enough panel.

Geez, after the MAS-INA match, the Star Sports commentators talked about every team in the semi-finals except the Philippines. They talk as if it all went to plan for Singapore: avoid Thailand, give someone else a chance to knock them off, then if they fail, face the War Elephants in the final. Er, did you guys miss the part where Singapore has to face the Philippines first?! I do hope that they'll get shocked from their early dismissal of the Azkals.

Both commentators are openly biased for SIN, that's why. One is a former SIN NT member, the other lives & works in Singapore obviously. I bet they won't mention that their team has already been beaten twice by PHI this year.
