The PFF’s 2010 summer program offers a fresh approach to youth development, incorporating the best practices from European and American football philosophies, where children’s learning is given top priority. This program was developed by former National player, professional players, local and foreign coaches with most impressive track records of success.
To maximize learning, optimal coach/player ratios will be employed where no more than 16 children will be assigned to one highly qualified coach. All playing time will be strictly controlled, affording every child equal time on the field. With an emphasis on learning and skills development, this program aims to introduce to newcomers, as well as reinforce with current players, the importance of foot skills, quick feet and technical speed. With these qualities, a player is expected to derive much more enjoyment and provide a positive contribution to his or her team. Participants in this 12-day program will leave with a greater understanding of what it takes to enjoy and play good football.
During these clinics, the PFF coaches will employ a progressive, age-based, small-sided games format, which is in use in one form or another in FIFA member countries and to some degree in the Philippines. Such a format promises more touches on the ball and thus more learning. It fosters an atmosphere of repeated success which raises a child's self-esteem and ultimately, a more enjoyable football experience.
The venue is the PhilSports Complex Football Field (old ULTRA). For flexible scheduling, participants may choose from either of two modules:
Module 1 : April 12-14, April 19-22, April 26-29. 7-9am (10 and under), 4-6pm (11-12 yrs old)
Module 2 : May10-13, May17-20, May 24-27. 7-9am (10 and under), 4-6pm (11-12 yrs old)
Participants may be classified into two skill groups, beginner or advanced. Cost is Php 3,000.
Because of low player-coach ratios, registration is limited and will be done on a first come, first served basis. Please mail or fax the attached registration form directly to the PFF. Please note that payments are due within 72 hours of submission. Registration for the first and second modules will be closed on March 30th and April 30th respectively, or until all slots have been filled. The general public is welcome to observe.
Please encourage your children to register early for this unique football experience.
