Good entertaining fight, Manny can still wow a crowd though he's clearly past the thrilling dynamo he once was. We saw it a bit in the first four rounds where he looked like he really wanted to knock Tim out but after that massive shot he took in round four he got way more careful. Bradley was trying to do that right overhand counter that Marquez did and was successful in round four but it seemed that was all he was counting on. I guess he didn't have the punching power JMM did to knock Manny out. Bradley looked pretty tired by, I don't know, round five? He seemed off balance a lot. And the stupid antics he did may have lost him the fight. But yeah, I think he actually gained a lot of fans here cause he entertained and showed a lot of class in the end. But in the end, Manny's mom may be what the world will remember from this fight. Haha

If the Mayweather fight pushes through, the Philippine Boxing folks should take a hint from Mommy Dionisia and send a delegation of Mambabarangs from Siquijor to the fight. Ring side seats for them, and Mayweather will be toast.
By the way, this coming Friday, as in all Good Fridays, the "scientists" of Siquijor will hold a convention at the highest peak of the Island, I think it is Mt. Bandilaan. Put this item in their agenda!

I think it would spook Mayweather if the 2 ever get into the ring together.

Manny Pacquiao's new Footlocker commercial is hilarious: I like the fact that Mayweather's name was never mentioned, but practically every viewer knows who Manny is referring to. Even the T shirt Manny is wearing is a direct dig at Floyd's uncle Roger Mayweather's former monicker and who Floyd used to train under. Anyways, apparently Showtime Entertainment is trying to make it happen acc. to Arum, although Roach is not as optimistic about the match ever coming to fruition. “We’ve been waiting for this for how long now? Will that dream ever come true? I doubt it,” said Roach on Wednesday afternoon, November 19. “He’s been ducking us for three and a half years now. He’s shot, his legs are gone. Manny will knock him out. It’s not even a fight anymore. The guy’s all done now.” www.rappler.com/sports/by-sport/boxing-mma/pacquiao/75585-who-will-manny-pacquiao-fight-next

It shows that Pacquiao is in the KobeSystem It wasn't Manny Pacquiao who came up with the idea for this commercial. I am sure the screenwriters for this commercial were very much aware of the Black Mamba connection with Roger Mayweather and decided to use it in the skit. Roger BTW tried to apply for a patent for the Black Mamba monicker with the US Patent Office, recently so Kobe couldn't use it commercially: au.ibtimes.com/articles/541902/20140305/kobe-bryant.htmThe fact that the T Shirt says Black Mamba Training certainly dovetails with the fact that Roger Mayweather was Floyd's trainer for many years.

Manny Pacquiao won by UD over Chris Algieri. He was credited with 6 knockdowns(some a bit bogus) but Algieri survived the fight.

www.fightsaga.com/news/item/...cquiao-Fight-must-happen-by-June-insists-Arum "Manny Pacquiao demonstrated why the guy sort of obliquely referred to in the FootLocker commercial has been reluctant to fight him," stated the 82 year old fight promoter. "After this performance, the reluctance will probably be even greater. Manny Pacquiao is a great, great champion. When he prepares for a fight, there's nobody that can come close to beating him." "Everyone likes to bring up the fact that Manny hasn't had a knock-out since 2009, but he knocked his opponent down six times in this fight. That's twice the number of knock downs that Mayweather has had over the last twelve years." "I think a fight between Manny and Floyd should happen and the fans deserve that fight. In order for boxing to be considered a major sport, the fight with Mayweather has to happen. Everyone should be working together to make that fight happen. There's no excuses anymore. None! I'll be ready to pick up my phone, and Manny will be ready to pick up his phone to make this fight happen. We're ready!" "For the Mayweather fight, it's good that we talk about it," insisted Manny Pacquiao. "The fans deserve to see that fight. It's time. It's time to say something about it. It's time to make that fight happen. I've wanted this fight for a very long time, and I'm ready." www.supersport.com/boxing/international/news/141123/Pacman_has_Floyd_in_a_cornerBut now Mayweather may be boxed into a corner for a number of reasons and from a number of angles. The pressure will be on to make the fight sometime in the first half of next year or forever draw the wrath of the fans who contribute to his massive paychecks. Suddenly the prospect of boxing's richest fight does not seem like such a far-fetched fantasy after all. "Answer the telephone, it's as simple as that," promoter Bob Arum said when asked what it would take to make the fight. "If boxing is to be considered a major sport then the fight has to happen. The nonsense needs to cease. There are no excuses anymore." Mayweather opened the door ever so slightly after his win over Marcos Maidana in September, saying he might be open to the possibility of a fight. "If the Pacquiao fight happens, it happens," Mayweather said. "You can ask the same questions and get the same answers. I call my own shots." ---- It was fun to see how explosive Manny looked last night in his dominating win over Algieri. As one writer mentioned, the search and destroy version of Manny Pacquiao is back!

It looks like the Pacquaio-Mayweather fight has a good chance of happening. Aside from news from various sources that negotiations are progressing, there is this article that Showtime CEO Moonves has given an ultimatum to both Showtime boxing head Espinosa and Mayweather manager Al Haymon to deliver the fight or be banned from the network: ringobserver.com/articles/moonves-squeezing-haymon-to-deliver-floydWhat I heard is this: CBS CEO Les Moonves has given Showtime boxing head Stephen Espinoza the ultimatum to deliver Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao ... OR ELSE. If he can't deliver Floyd, Espinoza will be out of a job. And Haymon will also be out because the new boxing boss will not work with Haymon beyond the final two contracted Mayweather fights. So Haymon, already banned from HBO, will in effect be banned at Showtime. It could be the end of the road for Haymon in boxing because he's putting up his own money ($20 million) to buy air time from NBC to build, promote and develop his fighters. So without Showtime revenues, Haymon will have no revenue stream from boxing. Indeed it looks like the squeeze is on Haymon and Espinoza to finally deliver Floyd. Bob Arum and the rest of the powers that be are aware of what's going on and waiting to see what happens. If Mayweather continues to resist he will provoke the wrath of his chief protector for the last eight years - Haymon, who can ill afford to lose his relationship with Showtime. It's about to get very interesting, dear boxing fans. The stars are aligning. Pacquiao vs. Mayweather is looking closer to reality than ever before. ____ As for the negotiations, acc. to the Los Angeles Times, they have already agreed on the venue(MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas) and drug testing protocols and are currently working on the purse and date of the fight as well as the broadcasting details between HBO and Showtime. www.latimes.com/sports/sport...r-manny-pacquiao-progress-20150109-story.html

I am a big fan of Manny as a boxer and as a person, but I think as a professional basketball player, I agree with that PBA import who said that Manny is making a mockery of the PBA. He is a joke on the professional basketball court. I don't know why PBA commissioner Salud would even consider penalizing this player for telling the truth.

sports.yahoo.com/news/done-d...-fight-manny-pacquiao-on-may-2-194611430.htmlAfter years of frustration and disappointment, following many starts and stops, perhaps the most talked about boxing match in history is finally a reality. Floyd Mayweather Jr. announced Friday that he's agreed to fight Manny Pacquiao in a welterweight bout May 2 at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas. It's a bout the public has been calling for since late 2009 and pits the two finest boxers of their generation in a historic event. "I am very happy that Floyd Mayweather and I can give the fans the fight they have wanted for so many years," said Pacquiao, who signed the contract for the bout Thursday. "They have waited long enough and they deserve it. It is an honor to be part of this historic event. I dedicate this fight to all the fans who willed this fight to happen and, as always, to bring glory to the Philippines and my fellow Filipinos around the world."
